Interventional endoscopic ultrasonography: Where are we headed? [PDF]

open access: yesDigestive Endoscopy, 2017
Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) is an essential endoscopic tool within the diagnostic and therapeutic armamentarium of gastrointestinal and hepatic diseases. EUS‐guided tissue acquisition will develop towards facilitating personalized treatment by obtaining large representative tissue specimens for elaborate immunohistochemical and biomolecular typing

Nanotherapies for Atherosclerosis: Targeting, Catalysis, and Energy Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Atherosclerosis management is hindered by poor drug targeting and plaque heterogeneity. Nanotechnology overcomes these barriers via three core strategies: (1) target‐engineered nanocarriers that achieve lesion‐specific precision via ligand modification, biomimetic camouflage, stimuli‐responsive release, and self‐propelling nanomotors; (2) catalytic ...

E-076 Intravascular Ultrasonography for Cerebrovascular Intervention [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic poster abstracts, 2016
Purpose We want to share our limited, but unique experience on the use of intravascular ultrasonography (IVUS) for the cerebrovascular intervention and discuss its feasibility and usefulness. Methods A retrospective image and medical record review was completed for the patients who underwent IVUS during various cerebrovascular intervention.

Ultrasound‐Triggered Nanobubbles for Endothelial‐Targeted Drug Delivery in the Detection and Treatment of Doxorubicin‐Induced Cardiotoxicity

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The DA/VTP‐NBs selectively recognized cardiac ECs damaged by DIC and achieved cell‐level targeted imaging. Then US‐triggered controlled release successfully enabled the release of DAPA within the DA/VTP‐NBs at the site of injury. This precise on‐demand drug release approach amplifies a series of localized therapeutic effects through the mtDNA‐mediated ...

Thermal Processing Creates Water‐Stable PEDOT:PSS Films for Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
Instead of using chemical cross–linkers, it is shown that PEDOT:PSS thin films for bioelectronics become water‐stable after a simple heat treatment. The heat treatment is compatible with a range of rigid and elastomeric substrates and films are stable in vivo for >20 days.

Mitochondrial Transplantation via Magnetically Responsive Artificial Cells Promotes Intracerebral Hemorrhage Recovery by Supporting Microglia Immunological Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 37, Issue 13, April 2, 2025.
A type of magnetically responsive artificial cells (ACs) has been developed, demonstrating the loading of mitochondria and self‐enclosure processes to ensure the protection of mitochondrial transport via the bloodstream. The treatment with ACs effectively transplanted mitochondria around the lesion, thereby improving neurological recovery by supporting

Rapid Fabrication of Self‐Propelled and Steerable Magnetic Microcatheters for Precision Medicine

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A rapid Joule heating fabrication method for the production of self‐propelling, adaptive microcatheters, with tunable stiffness and integrated microfluidic channels is presented. Demonstrated through three microrobotic designs, including a steerable guiding catheter, an untethered wave‐crawling TubeBot, and a distal‐end propelled microcatheter, it was ...
