FOXM1 Protects Against Myocardial Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury in Rodent and Porcine Models by Suppressing MKRN1‐Dependent LKB1 Ubiquitination

FOXM1 maintains mitochondrial bioenergetic function by inhibiting MKRN1‐mediated ubiquitination of LKB1 in cardiomyocytes. Loss of FOXM1 in cardiomyocytes results in upregulation of MKRN1, which enhances LKB1 ubiquitination and disrupts AMPK signaling and energy metabolism pathways. Conversely, FOXM1 overexpression preserves mitochondrial bioenergetics

Noradrenergic and cholinergic innervation of the normal human heart and changes associated with cardiomyopathy

Abstract Autonomic nerves are crucial in cardiac function and pathology. However, data on the distribution of cholinergic and noradrenergic nerves in normal and pathologic human hearts is lacking. Nonfailing donor hearts were pressure‐perfusion fixed, imaged, and dissected. Left ventricular cardiomyopathy samples were also obtained.

Familial aneurysms of the interventricular septum. [PDF]

Congenital aneurysms of the interventricular septum were found in a 29 year old man and his four year old son. Both were symptom free. In both, M mode and cross sectional echocardiography showed an aneurysm in the mid-muscular trabecular portion of the ventricular septum with considerable paradoxical motion of the aneurysmal segment.
