Use of Recombinant Human Soluble Thrombomodulin in Patients with Sepsis-Induced Disseminated Intravascular Coagulation after Intestinal Perforation

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2015
Background: Anticoagulant therapy has been evaluated with respect to its potential usefulness in reducing the high mortality rates associated with severe sepsis, including sepsis-induced disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) after intestinal ...

Clinical and Economic Insights Into Surgery for Colonic Diverticular Perforation: A Long‐Term Observational Cohort Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
The sigmoid colon was the most common perforation site among patients with colonic diverticular perforation. The patients' conditions, length of hospital stay, and hospitalization cost were significantly worse in left‐sided colon diverticular perforation than in right‐sided colon diverticular perforation. The clinical characteristics differed according

Prolapse of the Small Intestine from the Uterine Perforation at Dilatation and Curettage

open access: yesCase Reports in Obstetrics and Gynecology, 2014
Dilatation and curettage (D&C) sometimes causes uterine perforation, which usually does not cause a serious problem. Here, we report uterine perforation caused by D&C, in which the small intestine prolapsed from the uterus, requiring intestinal resection.

TUBERCULOUS PERFORATIONS OF THE SMALL INTESTINE

open access: yesInternational Journal of Clinical Practice, 1999
SUMMARYThe hospital records of 58 patients operated on for tuberculous perforations of the small intestines at our hospital between 1987 and 1996 were reviewed. Clinical features were non‐specific in the majority of the patients. Pneumoperitoneum on abdominal radiographs was present in only 28 (48.3%) patients.

Regulating the Interaction Between Near‐Infrared Dye and Endogenous Albumin for Concurrent Imaging Skin Inflammation and Neovascularization After Flap Transplantation

open access: yesAggregate, EarlyView.
This study identified a near‐infrared (NIR) dye with superior covalent albumin‐binding capability, enabling high‐contrast imaging of skin inflammation with minimal background interference. This work further demonstrated dual‐channel imaging of skin barrier disruption and neovascularization in flap transplantation models, and allowed simultaneous ...
