Abstract Two cases are reported of tumors of the small intestine, adenocarcinoma and pedunculated submucous lipoma, both occurring close to the ligament of Treitz. The initial difficulties in diagnosis are described. A review is presented of the symptoms, roentgenograms, pathology and surgical treatment of tumors of the small intestine.
