A Subset of Pro‐inflammatory CXCL10+ LILRB2+ Macrophages Derives From Recipient Monocytes and Drives Renal Allograft Rejection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers a recipient‐derived monocyte‐to‐macrophage trajectory that drives inflammation during kidney transplant rejection. Using over 150 000 single‐cell profiles and more than 850 biopsies, the authors identify CXCL10+ macrophages as key predictors of graft loss.

Robustness analysis of magnetic torquer controlled spacecraft attitude dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper describes a systematic approach to the robustness analysis of linear periodically time-varying (LPTV) systems. The method uses the technique known as Lifting to transform the original time-varying uncertain system into linear fractional ...

Fine-scale mapping of vector habitats using very high resolution satellite imagery : a liver fluke case-study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The visualization of vector occurrence in space and time is an important aspect of studying vector-borne diseases. Detailed maps of possible vector habitats provide valuable information for the prediction of infection risk zones but are currently lacking

Space-time modeling of soil moisture: Stochastic rainfall forcing with heterogeneous vegetation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The present paper complements that of Isham et al. (2005), who introduced a space-time soil moisture model driven by stochastic space-time rainfall forcing with homogeneous vegetation and in the absence of topographical landscape effects.

Integrative single cell RNA‐sequencing and spatial transcriptomics uncovers distinct macrophage‐fibroblast cross‐talk in human hip synovium between patients with femoroacetabular impingement and osteoarthritis

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Accepted Article.
Objectives Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) and synovitis have been recognized as essential factors for developing osteoarthritis (OA) in the hip joints. However, little is known about altered synovial cellular compositions, their associated transcriptomic profiles, and cell‐cell interactions in FAI and hip OA.

Peirce on Person: Peirce’s Theory of Determination and the Existence of Personality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
In his theory of determination, Charles Peirce considered two processes of determination, the semiotic process and epistemology. The semiotic process is an extensional process from object to interpretant that consists of an infinite chain of references ...

Brief Announcement: Massively Parallel Approximate Distance Sketches [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Data structures that allow efficient distance estimation have been extensively studied both in centralized models and classical distributed models. We initiate their study in newer (and arguably more realistic) models of distributed computation: the ...

Radial capacity and hemodynamics evaluation in vitro and implantable feasibility validation in vivo of thinner bioresorbable polymer vascular stents

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
A series of in vitro experiments, numerical simulations and in vivo experiments were conducted to jointly evaluate the effects of different thicknesses of bioabsorbable polymer vascular stents on their radial capacity, hemodynamics and in vivo outcomes.
