Cervical intra-epithelial neoplasia in pregnancy

A retrospective analysis of 110 cases of suspected cervical intra-epithelial neoplasia (CIN) associated with pregnancy seen at the State University of New York at Buffalo (SUNYAB) affiliated hospitals is the subject of this report. One hundred anf five patients had abnormal cytology and five had negative pap smears.

Human papillomavirus and vulval intra-epithelial neoplasia

The association between human papillomavirus vulval skin infection and vulval intra-epithelial neoplasia is strong. Vulval skin carcinogenesis is, however, multifactorial. Both human papillomavirus oncogenic subtype infection and p53 mutations are likely to contribute to the risk of malignant transformation of normal epithelium.

Abstract. 300 patients, 18–43 years of age, with CIN I‐III were treated between 1979 and 1983 with laser vaporization. The follow‐up for 12–60 months has been analysed.
