A Data Driven Review of In Vitro Electrical and Mechanical Stimulation for Post‐Acute Phase Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines how in vitro electrical and mechanical stimulation modulates wound healing in fibroblasts and keratinocytes. Analyzing over 560 experimental data points, we relate stimulation parameters to proliferation and migration outcomes, evaluate platform designs, and highlight the need for multi‐parameter optimization to advance targeted ...

Fast Intra Prediction Mode Decision Algorithm for HEVC

open access: yes, 2013
This paper proposes a novel fast intra-prediction algorithm that exploits the Sobel operator to replace the Hadamard transform used in the Rough Mode Decision (RMD) process of intra prediction in High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC).

Simultaneous Electrochemical Detection of NGF and proNGF Under Native Conditions Using Molecularly Imprinted Polymers: Toward Point‐of‐Care Diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study relies on the development of a new sensor that can detect two closely related proteins involved in Alzheimer's disease at the same time. Unlike traditional methods, it works in natural conditions and does not require sample pretreatment. The device is highly sensitive and was successfully tested on patient samples, offering promises for ...

Portable Breathing Monitoring With Phase‐Resolved Airflow Dynamics Enabled by a Dual‐Response Flexible PZT Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A portable respiratory monitoring device based on a flexible PZT sensor captures pressure‐ and temperature‐related airflow responses in a single waveform. Polarity‐opposed piezoelectric and pyroelectric components generate a narrow transient spike and a broad quasi‐steady peak during both inhalation and exhalation. This dual‐component structure enables

Adaptive fast intra mode decision of depth map coding by low complexity RD-Cost in 3D-HEVC

open access: yes, 2015
The coding efficiency of 3D-HEVC can be improved significantly by adopting more intra modes in depth map coding, including up to 35 conventional HEVC intra prediction modes and 4 depth modelling modes (DMMs).

Mode of delivery in placental abruption: A case report on difficulty in distinguishing between uterine rupture and placental abruption due to clinical features that overlap

open access: yesCase Reports in Women's Health
Amongst the indications for caesarean delivery (CD) in pregnant women presenting with placental abruption (PA), fetal demise near term, and a previous major uterine surgery are peritonitic abdomen and severe vaginal bleeding.

Water Permeates and Plasticizes Amorphous Carbon Dots: Unraveling the Inner Accessibility of the Nanoparticles by Glass Transition Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The water permeability of amorphous carbon dots (CDs) is demonstrated by investigating their plasticization. Novel polyamide‐based and amorphous nanoparticles are synthesized by controlling their inner packing density. Water plasticization is evidenced by the decrease of the CDs glass transition temperature with increasing the hydration degree.

Fast intra prediction mode decision based on statistics for AVS-M

open access: yes, 2008
In this paper, a new fast intra prediction mode decision based on statistics for AVS-M is put forward. On the foundation of the method, early termination for intra prediction is carried out and computation is substantially reduced. The simulation results
