Efficient Predictive Coding of Intra Prediction Modes
The high efficiency video coding (HEVC) standard and the joint exploration model (JEM) codec incorporate 35 and 67 intra prediction modes (IPMs) respectively, which are essential for efficient compression of Intra coded blocks. These IPMs are transmitted to the decoder through a coding scheme.

An efficient FPGA implementation of HEVC intra prediction [PDF]
Intra prediction algorithm used in High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard has very high computational complexity. In this paper, an efficient FPGA implementation of HEVC intra prediction is proposed for 4×4, 8×8, 16×16 and 32×32 angular prediction modes.

Impact of Asymptomatic Intracranial Hemorrhage on Outcome After Endovascular Stroke Treatment
ABSTRACT Background Endovascular treatment (EVT) achieves high rates of recanalization in acute large‐vessel occlusion (LVO) stroke, but functional recovery remains heterogeneous. While symptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (sICH) has been well studied, the prognostic impact of asymptomatic intracranial hemorrhage (aICH) after EVT is less certain ...

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...

ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...

Intra-prediction mode decision based on video temporal and spatial correlation
An intra-prediction mode-decision method was proposed. Based on the inherent spatial correlation within a single frame and temporal correlation between successive frames, part of intra-prediction modes were chosen to determine the best prediction mode ...

Clinical Validation of Plasma p‐217tau in Neurological Diseases
ABSTRACT Objective Plasma p‐217tau is a minimally invasive but specific biomarker for diagnosing Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, its disease specificity remains to be clinically evaluated. We validated the reliability of the p‐217tau biomarker in 12 other neurological diseases.
