Far-Infrared Emission from Intracluster Dust in Abell Clusters [PDF]
The ISOPHOT instrument aboard ISO has been used to observe extended FIR emission of six Abell clusters. The raw profiles of the I_(120 um) / I_(180 um) surface brightness ratio including zodiacal light show a bump towards Abell 1656 (Coma), dips towards Abell 262 and Abell 2670, and are without clear structure towards Abell 400, Abell 496, and Abell ...

In this review, we aim to provide a comprehensive understanding of plasma and its application in energy storage and conversion. The classification of plasma technologies and principles are summarized. Recent developments in the synthesis or modification of multiscale materials based on plasma techniques including conversion, doping, deposition, and ...

Inflationary and Phase-transitional Primordial Magnetic Fields in Galaxy Clusters
Primordial magnetic fields (PMFs) are possible candidates for explaining the observed magnetic fields in galaxy clusters. Two competing scenarios of primordial magnetogenesis have been discussed in the literature: inflationary and phase-transitional.

Sound waves in the intracluster medium [PDF]
We present an analysis of the behaviour of a perturbed radio cocoon. Comparisons with observations of sound waves detected in the Perseus and Virgo clusters suggest the separations of observed ripples correspond to the natural oscillation frequency of the cocoon.

Power to the researchers: Calculating power after estimation
Abstract This study demonstrates a simple and reliable method for calculating ex post power. We first conduct a series of Monte Carlo experiments to assess its performance. The experiments are designed to produce artificial datasets that resemble actual data from 23 studies funded by the International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie).

Simulating the Arrival of the Southern Substructure in the Galaxy Cluster Abell 1758
Abell 1758 ( z ∼ 0.278) is a galaxy cluster composed of two structures, A1758N and A1758S, separated by ∼2.2 Mpc. The northern cluster is itself a dissociative merging cluster that has already been modeled by dedicated simulations.

Galaxy Cluster Outskirts from the Thermal SZ and Non-Thermal Synchrotron Link
Galaxy cluster merger shocks are the main agent for the thermalization of the intracluster medium and the energization of cosmic ray particles in it. Shock propagation changes the state of the tenuous intracluster plasma, and the corresponding signal ...

Dynamical evolution of magnetic fields in the intracluster medium [PDF]
We investigate the evolution of magnetic fields in galaxy clusters starting from constant primordial fields using highly resolved ($\approx \rm 4 ~kpc$) cosmological MHD simulations.

Forecasting Constraints from Surface Brightness Fluctuations in Galaxy Clusters
Studies of surface brightness (SB) fluctuations in the intracluster medium present an indirect estimate of turbulent pressure support and associated Mach numbers.
