Intracranial hypertension in patients with ruptured intracranial aneurysm
Journal of Neurosurgery, 1977✓ Simultaneous continuous recording of intracranial pressure (ICP) and systemic blood pressure was carried out in 26 patients admitted within 1 week after subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) due to a ruptured intracranial aneurysm. The patients were graded as described by Hunt and Hess. Recordings were made for 1 to 5 days.

It is associated with vascular changes that may predispose to superficial siderosis. When treated with an epidural blood patch, rebound intracranial hypertension may ensue.

Intracranial lipomas are very rare, probably congenital lesions. Though they can occur anywhere in the intracranial space, a good proportion of cases tend to be located around the midline. Review of the literature as well as our own three cases--which forms the basis of this article--shows that they are mostly asymptomatic.

Following intravenous contrast, MRI revealed diffuse pachymeningeal enhancement consistent with spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH).
