Intralobar bronchopulmonary sequestration
The American Journal of Surgery, 1955Abstract Intralobar bronchopulmonary sequestration is the association of a cystic lesion in the lung, practically always in the posterior basal segment of a lower lobe, with an artery of supply arising from the lower thoracic or upper abdominal aorta. This artery is of surgical significance, as it may offer a definite hazard during lobectomy.

Intralobar sequestration a missed diagnosis
The Annals of Thoracic Surgery, 1989Intralobar pulmonary sequestration is an uncommon but distinct clinical entity that may be the unrecognized cause of recurrent pulmonary infections. Between 1967 and 1987, 10 patients, ranging in age from 5 to 39 years, were found to have an intralobar sequestration.

Diagnosing intralobar pulmonary sequestration
Archives of Disease in Childhood, 2018An 11-year-old girl presented with abdominal pain and lethargy. Chest X-ray revealed a well-defined opacity in the right lower zone, projected over the medial aspect of the right hemidiaphragm (figure 1). She was treated with two courses of antibiotics but remained symptomatic with a cough. Repeat X-rays demonstrated no change in the opacity. Figure

Intralobar Pulmonary Sequestration
Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 1987This report documents the use of magnetic resonance (MR) in evaluation of intralobar pulmonary sequestration. Because of its distinctive multiplanar capabilities and nonreliance on contrast media to visualize blood vessels, MR can be used to define and characterize the size and course of anomalous arterial feeding vessels.

Diseases of the Chest, 1962Intralobar sequestration of the lingula pulmonalis was noted in a white woman cadaver of 62 years. As the affected tissue was adherent to the pericardium, it received an extrapulmonary arterial supply from both the pericardiophrenic artery and a systemic vessel derived from the aorta.
