Intralobar Pulmonary Sequestration

Journal of Computer Assisted Tomography, 1987
This report documents the use of magnetic resonance (MR) in evaluation of intralobar pulmonary sequestration. Because of its distinctive multiplanar capabilities and nonreliance on contrast media to visualize blood vessels, MR can be used to define and characterize the size and course of anomalous arterial feeding vessels.

Intralobar Pulmonary Sequestration

Diseases of the Chest, 1953
Pulmonary displacement associated with an anomalous artery has been frequently described since the advent of much chest surgery. The earliest adequate report of such a case is generally attributed to Tissler in his D#{252}sseldorf thesis, unpublished but quoted by Muller.’ Earlier classical descriptions by Rektorzek2 (1861), and Humphrey3 (1884) and ...

INTRALOBAR PULMONARY SEQUESTRATION

A.M.A. Archives of Surgery, 1954
INTRALOBAR pulmonary sequestration was described by Pryce as an anomalous artery running from the aorta in the vicinity of the diaphragm to the lung and a congenital bronchopulmonary sequestration or ectopia in the area of the lung served by the anomalous vessel.

[Intralobar pulmonary sequestration].

Zentralblatt fur Chirurgie, 1983
14 cases of intralobar sequestration of the lung are reviewed. There are 3 different patterns of clinical and radiological symptoms. Angiography is of great value in establishing the diagnosis and defining the anatomic details of the anomalous blood supply, allowing careful planning of the surgical procedure, which was a lower lobectomy in 12 cases ...

Intralobar pulmonary sequestration

2008
Pulmonary sequestration is a nonfunctional parenchyma supplied by a systemic artery and has no communication with tracheobronchial tree. It's a congenital pathology which requires surgical resection and can clinically mimic bronchiectasis, pneumonia, pyogenic lung abscess or cavitary lung diseases.

[Intralobar pulmonary sequestration].

Zentralblatt fur Chirurgie, 2004
Sequestration is defined as an area of abnormal pulmonary tissue not connected with the bronchial tree, supplied by an aberrant systemic artery and without a normal pulmonary function. Extralobar (ELS) and intralobar (ILS) forms are distinguished. During the year 2002 the authors diagnosed and operated upon two cases of the intralobar form of pulmonary
