3 year old with chronic wet cough : Intralobar Bronchopulmonary sequestration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Bronchopulmonary sequestration (BPS) is a rare congenital foregut anomaly of the lung, consisting of nonfunctioning primitive tissue that does not communicate with the healthy tracheobronchial tree.

Multimodality Imaging and Endovascular Management of Intralobar Pulmonary Sequestration in a Young Female: A Case Report [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research
Pulmonary sequestration is an uncommon congenital lung anomaly in which non-functioning lung tissue lacks communication with the tracheobronchial tree and receives blood supply from an abnormal systemic artery.

Thoracoscopic Segmentectomy for Pulmonary Sequestration Supplied by Aberrant Celiac Trunk

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
We report a rare case of right intralobar pulmonary sequestration supplied by a large aberrant systemic artery arising from the celiac trunk. Preoperative three‐dimensional computed tomography (3DCT) enabled precise visualisation of the vascular anatomy and guided safe thoracoscopic basal segmentectomy using an intrathoracic peripheral control strategy.

Unusual echocardiographic finding leading to diagnosis of pulmonary sequestration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Pulmonary sequestration is an embryonic mass of non- functioning lung tissue that does not communicate with the tracheobronchial tree and has a reported incidence of 0.15%-6.4% of all the pulmonary malformations.

A case of intralobar pulmonary sequestration with high serum CA19-9 levels. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
A 38-year-old female presented with cough and fever. A chest X-ray examination revealed an abnormal shadow in the posteroinferior portion of the left hemithorax, and a laboratory examination showed that the serum carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9) level ...

Cardiac MRI Diagnosis of Large Aortopulmonary Collateral and Pulmonary Sequestration Presenting as Left Chamber Dilation

open access: yesCJC Pediatric &Congenital Heart Disease, Volume 5, Issue 1, Page 20-22, February 2026.
Although an echocardiogram is usually sufficient to determine the etiology of left ventricular and aortic dilation in pediatric patients, cross‐sectional imaging may complement echocardiography when the diagnosis is unclear. We present the case of a 2‐year‐old child with left atrial, left ventricular, and aortic dilation caused by an intralobar ...

Surgical Management of Congenital Lung Malformations in Children—A Single‐Center Analysis of 25 Years of Experience

open access: yesThe Clinical Respiratory Journal, Volume 20, Issue 2, February 2026.
Early diagnosis and intervention are critical for improving prognosis in children with congenital lung malformations (CLM). Fetal diagnosis of CLM generally leads to favorable outcomes; however, there is limited evidence on the effectiveness of fetal therapy in improving outcomes for these anomalies.

Impact of Changes in the Profiles of Patients' Backgrounds on the Indications of Thoracoscopic Lobectomy for Congenital Lung Malformations: A Multicenter Retrospective Study in Southern Japan

open access: yesAsian Journal of Endoscopic Surgery, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction The number of patients with congenital lung malformations (CLM) is increasing because of prenatal diagnosis. We investigated the changes in the patient backgrounds and the surgical approach for lobectomy, evaluating the surgical outcomes of thoracoscopic surgery.

Robot-assisted segmental resection for intralobar pulmonary sequestration

open access: yes, 2016
Introduction Pulmonary sequestration is a rare congenital malformation found most frequently as intralobar sequestration in the left lower lobe. Complete surgical resection is considered the treatment of choice.
