A man in his 30s presented with one month of progressive bilateral numbness and paralysis in the lower extremities. He had a history of pulmonary tuberculosis two years earlier, which resolved after treatment with isoniazid, rifampicin, and ethambutol.

Intramedullary cysticercosis

In 1976 a 28-year-old Ecuadoran male suffered paraparesis after a kick to his back. Iophendylate myelography was followed by thoracic laminectomy with incomplete resolution of the paraparesis. One year later, worsening of the paraparesis was managed by further thoracic laminectomy without improvement.

Intramedullary cysticercosis

We are reporting two cases of intramedullary cysticercus cysts. Both patients presented with a clinical picture of progressive cord compression. One of them also had bilateral radicular pain. In the female patient the symptoms became exaggerated during her two consecutive pregnancies which is a rare and interesting observation.

Intramedullary metastasis

Three cases of intramedullary metastases and one of a metastasis into the medulla oblongata are described. In two cases the primary tumour was a bronchial carcinoma and in one case a carcinoma of the breast. In one patient a primary tumour could not be found.

Intramedullary Schistosomiasis

A case study of intramedullary schistosomiasis in a 10-year-old child is reported. The patient presented with a short history of ascending paraparesis with no sensory loss. Sphincter dysfunction was rapid. She had surgical exploration and removal of a conus medullaris mass. Schistosomiasis was confirmed histologically. Combined steroid and praziquantel

Intramedullary Spinal Epidermoid Associated with an Intramedullary Lipoma

True intramedullary epidermoids and true intramedullary lipomas of the spinal cord are very rare lesions. To our knowledge, there has been no reported case associated with an intramedullary spinal lipoma. This is the first reported case with the association of these two lesions.

Intramedullary Spinal Tuberculoma

Abstract A case report of intramedullary spinal tuberculomas presenting as cervical myelopathy is described. The rarity of these lesions in North America make this case unique. The use of modern neurodiagnostic and microsurgical techniques as well as the use of postoperative antituberculous drugs resulted in a good outcome.
