Automatic Segmentation of the Optic Nerve Head Region in Optical Coherence Tomography: A Methodological Review [PDF]
The optic nerve head represents the intraocular section of the optic nerve (ONH), which is prone to damage by intraocular pressure. The advent of optical coherence tomography (OCT) has enabled the evaluation of novel optic nerve head parameters, namely the depth and curvature of the lamina cribrosa (LC).

Postprandial Glucose as a Risk Factor for Elevated Intraocular Pressure. [PDF]
The aim of this study was to investigate the association between postprandial glucose and intraocular pressure in a relatively healthy population. We examined 1,439 adults getting a health check-up in a health promotion center at Tri-Service General ...

A Theoretical Study of Aqueous Humor Secretion Based on a Continuum Model Coupling Electrochemical and Fluid-Dynamical Transmembrane Mechanisms [PDF]
Intraocular pressure, resulting from the balance of aqueous humor (AH) production and drainage, is the only approved treatable risk factor in glaucoma. AH production is determined by the concurrent function of ionic pumps and aquaporins in the ciliary processes but their individual contribution is difficult to characterize experimentally. In this work,

A microscale optical implant for continuous in vivo monitoring of intraocular pressure
Intraocular pressure (IOP) is a key clinical parameter in glaucoma management. However, despite the potential utility of daily measurements of IOP in the context of disease management, the necessary tools are currently lacking, and IOP is typically ...

To suppress uveal melanoma metastasis (UM), the GSH‐responsive polymer named NP@Oxa/Criz has been successfully prepared. NP@Oxa/Criz selectively accumulates in UM tumors, targeting HGF/c‐Met Axis to undermine the stemness and metastasis of UM while triggering immunogenic cell death through DAMPs release to boost anti‐tumor immunity.

GWAS-by-subtraction reveals an IOP-independent component of primary open angle glaucoma
The etiology of primary open angle glaucoma is constituted by both intraocular pressure-dependent and intraocular pressure-independent mechanisms.

Impact of the Topical Ophthalmic Corticosteroid Loteprednol Etabonate on Intraocular Pressure
Corticosteroids are a mainstay therapeutic option for the treatment of ocular inflammation. However, safety remains a concern for clinicians, particularly with long-term use.
