N, S Co‐Doped Carbon Quantum Dots‐Riboflavin Composite Photosensitizers for Enhanced Iontophoresis‐Assisted Corneal Cross‐Linking

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study explores the use of N, S co‐doped carbon quantum dots (NS‐CQDs) as carriers for riboflavin, creating NS‐CQDs‐RF composite photosensitizers. These composites improve riboflavin absorption, enhance ROS generation efficiency, and preserve corneal epithelium integrity.

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Spontaneous Non‐Catalyzed Molecular Reactions and Interactions in the Human Body: Biomedical Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The human body functions as a natural reactor for a vast network of chemical and biological reactions and physical interactions among small molecules, proteins, cells, and numerous other components. These reactions/interactions are essential for maintaining normal physiological functions.

The influence of retrobulbar adipose tissue volume upon intraocular pressure in obesity [PDF]

open access: yesVojnosanitetski Pregled, 2013
Background/Aim. It is known that glaucoma is associated with elevated intraocular pressure and obesity, yet the precise etiology remains unclear. The aim of this study was to determine whether there is a potential causality between the volume of ...
