Single‐Staged Combined Retrograde Subchondral Drilling and In Situ Autologous or Micronized Cartilage Repair With Bone Marrow Aspirate Concentrate for Focal Patellofemoral Chondral Lesions

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Patellofemoral cartilage lesions are uniquely challenging to treat due to high joint contact pressures, complex tracking mechanics, and limited intrinsic healing potential. Conventional methods such as debridement, microfracture, or staged autologous chondrocyte implantation may disrupt the calcified cartilage layer, violate the subchondral ...

2D copper nanozyme patches facilitate bone regeneration via interfacial modulation of osteoclast‐osteoblast dynamics

open access: yesBMEMat, Volume 4, Issue 3, September 2026.
This study develops a nano‐enzyme patch (ezPatch) targeting bone interfaces. Utilizing ligand‐to‐metal charge transfer (LMCT) catalysis and bone‐targeting ligands on copper nanosheets, ezPatch simultaneously scavenges reactive oxygen species (ROS) and generates oxygen in situ at bone‐losing sites.

Bone stability after regenerative peri‐implantitis treatment: A 10‐year follow‐up case study

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, Volume 16, Issue 3, Page 477-484, September 2026.
Abstract Background Peri‐implantitis poses a significant challenge to implant longevity, leading to progressive bone loss and potential implant failure. While reconstructive surgery has been proven effective in regenerating peri‐implant tissues, the long‐term stability of the regenerated tissues and the impact of supportive peri‐implant care (SPIC) on ...

Single flap approach combined with periosteal pedicle flap as a regenerative procedure: A case report

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, Volume 16, Issue 3, Page 676-681, September 2026.
Abstract Background Single flap approach (SFA) is a validated procedure for obtaining clinical attachment gain and pocket closure when applied to deep intraosseous defects. However, the presence of an interdental crater as well as the tooth location were associated with a lower rate of primary intention closure, possibly jeopardizing the outcome of the

Moth‐Eaten Osteolysis of Multiple Foot Bones After a Conservatively Treated “Stable” Ankle Fracture: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Progressive multifocal “moth‐eaten” osteolysis involving foot and ankle bones after nonoperative treatment of a stable ankle fracture is rare and warrants evaluation for infectious, neoplastic, inflammatory, vascular, and mechanical causes.

The Role of SIRT1 in Mediating Bone Marrow Edema and Its Interface With Bone Remodeling

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Bone marrow edema (BME), a common magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) finding characterized by increased fluid signal, is associated with pain and structural deterioration in conditions such as osteoarthritis and avascular necrosis. The pathophysiology of BME involves a complex interplay of vascular leakage, inflammation, microdamage ...

3D‐Printed Models in Oral Surgery Simulation Training: A Scoping Review

open access: yesJournal of Dental Education, Volume 90, Issue 9, Page 1296-1321, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Advancements in three‐dimensional (3D) printing have introduced innovative tools for medical and dental education. In dental surgery, 3D‐printed simulation models offer valuable presurgical training. This review explores the scope, study types, key findings, limitations, and future research needs to enhance their application in ...

Navicular and fifth metatarsal base stress fractures: An illustrated anatomical review

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, Volume 34, Issue 9, Page 3135-3149, September 2026.
Abstract The navicular bone and the proximal fifth metatarsal (M5) play a vital role in maintaining the structural integrity and biomechanical stability of the foot's medial and lateral columns, respectively. Both bones' unique anatomical configuration, intricate mechanical environment and limited vascular supply make specific locations particularly ...
