Movement times in inter- and intrapersonal human coordination

2008 ECSIS Symposium on Learning and Adaptive Behaviors for Robotic Systems (LAB-RS), 2008
The present study examines how humans adapt their movements when interacting with another person. Different parameters of pick-and-place movements of the same person are compared in situations where the person works alone (intrapersonal coordination) and when the person is working with a partner (interpersonal coordination).

Accessing interpersonal and intrapersonal coordination dynamics

Experimental Brain Research, 2019
Both intrapersonal and interpersonal coordination dynamics have traditionally been investigated using relative phase patterns of in-phase (ϕ = 0°) and/or anti-phase (ϕ = 180°). Numerous investigations have demonstrated that coordination tasks that require other relative phase patterns (e.g., 90°) are difficult or near impossible to perform without ...

Interpersonal and intrapersonal coordinative modes for joint and single task performance

Human Movement Science, 2012
In recent years, research in the field of social interactions has focused on the exploration of the coordinative structures that substantiate joint task performance. The current project explores whether interpersonal coordination during joint task performance gives rise to a joint coordinative structure across individuals, and whether such coordinative
