During the Late Permian, the rise of the Gondwanides Belt trapped marine waters, giving birth to a vast megalake. This lake shifted between overfilled, balanced‐fill and underfilled stages that are recorded by high‐frequency accommodation changes, while meteorological seiches shaped the sedimentary dynamic and produced heterolithic beds.

Intraplate Basalts in Eastern Continental China Record the Subduction History of the Pacific Plate
To assess whether intraplate magmatism in eastern continental China records the subduction history of the Pacific plate, we plotted elemental compositions of the volcanic rocks in this region since the Early Cretaceous as a function of age.

Understanding Non-Plume Related Intraplate Volcanism
Intraplate volcanism is a worldwide phenomenon producing volcanoes away from active plate boundaries, a process that cannot yet be sufficiently explained by plate tectonic processes, and thus is still a missing piece in the understanding of the dynamics ...

Mantle dynamics beneath the Pacific Northwest and the generation of voluminous back‐arc volcanism
The Pacific Northwest (PNW) has a complex tectonic history and over the past ∼17 Ma has played host to several major episodes of intraplate volcanism.

Sizes and Ages of Seamounts Using Remote Sensing: Implications for Intraplate Volcanism
Satellite altimetry was used to identify and characterize Pacific intraplate seamounts. The gravimetric amplitudes of seamounts appear to be related to the age difference between the sea floor and seamounts; by inverting this relation, pseudo ages can be

The generation and source region of post-extensional intraplate volcanism in the Carpathian-Pannonian region [PDF]
This webpage [http://www.mantleplumes.org/Carpathian-PannonianRegion.html] is a summary of: Bracco Gartner, A. J. J., & McKenzie, D. (2020). Estimates of the Temperature and Melting Conditions of the Carpathian-Pannonian Upper Mantle From Volcanism ...

We assess bias in the record of kimberlite volcanism by using newly acquired size data on more than 900 kimberlite bodies from 12 kimberlite fields eroded to depths of between 0 m and >1200 m, and by a comparison with intraplate monogenetic basaltic ...

Petrogenesis of lavas from Detroit Seamount: Geochemical differences between Emperor Chain and Hawaiian volcanoes [PDF]
The Hawaiian Ridge and Emperor Seamount Chain define a hot spot track that provides an 80 Myr record of Hawaiian magmatism. Detroit Seamount (∼76 to 81 Ma) is one of the oldest Emperor Seamounts.

The causes and global distribution of intraplate volcanism remain poorly understood, particularly the occurrence of scattered magmatism unrelated to large igneous provinces (LIPs).
