Taxonomic identities of Coelogyne roseans, C. chen‐tsii and C. niana (Coelogyninae, Orchidaceae)

The taxonomic identities of Coelogyne roseans (= Pholidota roseans) and C. niana (= P. niana) have long been misunderstood. Our findings indicate that C. chen‐tsii (= P. longipes) is conspecific with C. niana, consequentially C. chen‐tsii is reduced to a synonym of C. niana. Although C. roseans and C.

A taxonomic reappraisal of the mangrove genus Avicennia in India was undertaken through extensive field surveys and critical examination of herbarium specimens. Three taxa, Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina subsp. marina, and Avicennia officinalis, are described in detail. A synonymic list was compiled using the World Checklist of Vascular Plants (WCVP)

Both density‐ and frequency‐dependent effects determine plant growth in a dune heath ecosystem

We tested the hypothesis that both density‐ and frequency‐dependent interactions play important roles in determining plant growth in a dune heath ecosystem at several levels of available nitrogen. Plant growth was measured using the pin‐point method in a five‐block experiment with four nitrogen levels.
