Red Man Syndrome Diagnosed in an Orthopedic Patient

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Red man syndrome (RMS) is an allergic reaction to vancomycin. Following an intravenous administration of vncomycin, it manifests as a rash on the face, neck, and upper trunk. No such incident has ever been documented in Ghana. Here, we talk about a rare incident of RMS in an orthopedic patient.

A tour of leukemia progress in 2025, viewed through the MD Anderson leukemia research lens

open access: yesCancer, Volume 131, Issue 21, 1 November 2025.
ABSTRACT Advances in the prognostication, monitoring, and treatment of both the acute and chronic leukemias have led to drastically improved outcomes over the past 2 decades. With the advent of targeted therapies, including antibodies such as blinatumomab and inotuzumab and small molecule inhibitors, such as the BCR::ABL1 tyrosine kinase inhibitors ...

Efficient On‐Column Removal of Endotoxin from Immunoglobulins Such as AK23

open access: yesCurrent Protocols, Volume 5, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Unattended endotoxin (ETX) contamination in biological samples constitute a major challenge for in vitro and in vivo applications. Besides being potentially life‐threatening, ETX contamination is especially relevant in global transcriptome analyses, where competing ETX stimulation can significantly skew the final gene expression profile.

Advances in gene therapy for Lafora disease: Intravenous recombinant adeno‐associated virus‐mediated delivery of EPM2A and EPM2B genes

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 11, November 2025.
Intravenous gene therapy with rAAV2/9P31 vectors delivering EPM2A or EPM2B reversed Lafora disease pathology and restored neuronal function in two mouse models. The approach showed comparable or superior efficacy to intracerebroventricular delivery, with no long‐term toxicity, supporting its translational potential.
