Development and Validation of a Multidimensional Intravaginal Ring Acceptability Scale Among US Women and Their Male Partners

open access: yesPerspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Intravaginal rings (IVRs) are marketed or in development for contraception and other indications. We sought to develop and validate the IVR Acceptability Scale (IVR‐AS) as a multidimensional, standardized tool for assessing IVR acceptability among end‐users in the United States.

Magnetic Field Expulsion from an Infinite Cylindrical Superconductor [PDF]

open access: yesPhysica C, 497, 54 (2014), 2014
The solutions of the London equations for the magnetic field expulsion from superconductors are presented in this paper for the cylindrical symmetry. The result is analyzed in detail and represented numerically for the case of a uniform external magnetic field in the transverse plane.

Stress‐Related Brain Alterations in Chronic Pain

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pain, Volume 29, Issue 6, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Stress symptoms are commonly experienced by people with chronic pain. Although stress and chronic pain are associated with similar effects on brain morphology, the present study aims to clarify the relationship between stress severity, chronic pain, and brain morphology.

Freely flowing currents and electric field expulsion in viscous electronics [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Lett. 123, 026801 (2019), 2018
Electronic fluids bring into hydrodynamics a new setting: equipotential flow sources embedded inside the fluid. Here we show that nonlocal relation between current and electric field due to momentum-conserving inter-particle collisions leads to a total or partial field expulsion from such flows.

Early vs Interval Postpartum Intrauterine Device Placement: A Randomized Clinical Trial.

open access: yesJournal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), 2023
Importance The early postpartum period, 2 to 4 weeks after birth, may be a convenient time for intrauterine device (IUD) placement; the placement could then coincide with early postpartum or well-baby visits.

Endourological management of migrated intravesical intrauterine contraceptive device: Neglected case with stone formation

open access: yesUrology Case Reports, 2023
Intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD) has been associated with numerous complications such as pelvic discomfort, spontaneous expulsion, and infections. In rare instances, perforation and migration can occur if neglected.

Flux Expulsion and Material Properties of Niobium Explored in 644-650 MHz Cavities [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Upcoming projects requiring high-Q ~650 MHz medium-to-high-${\beta}$ elliptical cavities drive a need to understand magnetic RF loss mechanisms and mitigations in greater detail. High-temperature annealing and fast-cooldowns have proven effective techniques for promoting magnetic flux expulsion in cavities, however the extent of their effectiveness has

Intrauterine Device Complications and Their Management

open access: yesCurrent Obstetrics and Gynecology Reports, 2023
Purpose of Review Individuals are using intrauterine devices (IUDs) increasingly more frequently not only for contraception and emergency contraception, but also, in the case of hormonal IUDs, for the management of heavy menstrual bleeding and ...

Cesarean section with operation on placental support as an adapted EXIT procedure for fetal thyroid goiter: A case report and literature review

open access: yesInternational Journal of Gynecology &Obstetrics, Volume 169, Issue 2, Page 474-484, May 2025.
Abstract The ex‐utero intrapartum treatment (EXIT) procedure is a specialized delivery strategy that extends utero–placental–fetal circulation to convert a potential neonatal emergency condition into a condition that is compatible with postnatal life. Cesarean section with operation on placental support is an EXIT technique that requires a relatively ...

Intrauterine contraceptive device rupture. Follow-up of a retrospective cohort and clinical protocol. RUDIUS study

open access: yesHeliyon, 2022
Objective: Intrauterine device fracture, as we know it today, is an infrequent event, usually described as isolated cases. The purpose of this study was to look for factors influencing intrauterine fragment retention after device rupture.
