Radial Mandibular Coronoidectomy in a Basset Hound as a Treatment for Temporomandibular Joint Dysplasia

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 5, September 2025.
A one‐year‐old Basset Hound presented with recurrent open‐mouth locking episodes and was diagnosed with temporomandibular joint dysplasia. Two‐position CT imaging was performed and guided surgical planning for partial mandibular coronoidectomy using a radial TPLO saw blade.

Contrast‐Enhanced Computed Tomography Imaging Features of Primary Hepatic Neuroendocrine Carcinoma in a 4‐Year‐Old French Bulldog

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 5, September 2025.
A 4‐year‐old female‐spayed French bulldog presented with symptoms of anorexia, lethargy, 22 and vomiting. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed multiple coalescing hyperechoic nodules 23 in the liver. Single‐phase contrast‐enhanced computed tomography (CT) scan showed 24 heterogeneous liver lobes with hyperattenuating parenchyma and multiple ...

Spinal Anaesthesia Versus General Anaesthesia for Patients With Tibia Shaft Fractures—A Randomized Controlled Study

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 69, Issue 8, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Background Concerns about the delayed diagnosis of acute compartment syndrome have led to recommendations favouring general anaesthesia over spinal anaesthesia in surgeries for diaphyseal tibia fractures. However, there is a lack of supporting clinical evidence.

Regional anaesthesia for awake urgent upper limb surgery in children: a prospective cohort study

open access: yesAnaesthesia, Volume 80, Issue 9, Page 1065-1073, September 2025.
Summary Introduction Peripheral regional anaesthesia is used rarely as the sole anaesthetic technique in children and is often combined with deep sedation or general anaesthesia for analgesic purposes. No literature addresses the minimum age at which regional anaesthesia can be considered to facilitate awake surgery in children.

Magnetic resonance imaging for diagnosing and managing deep digital flexor tendinopathy in equine athletes: Insights, advances and future directions

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, Volume 57, Issue 5, Page 1183-1203, September 2025.
Abstract Deep digital flexor (DDF) tendinopathy is a significant cause of lameness and poor performance in equine athletes with substantial implications for their return to athletic performance. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is increasingly integrated into the diagnostic workup of horses with foot pain and has revolutionised the diagnosis and ...

Painfully Obvious? Non‐Operative Drivers of Post‐Operative Pain and Opioid Exposure in a Predominantly Emergency Surgical Cohort: A Multicentre Observational Study Identifying Non‐Operative, Perioperative Pain Correlates

open access: yesPain Practice, Volume 25, Issue 7, September 2025.
ABSTRACT Introduction There are many non‐operative factors (patient specific and management strategies) that are ubiquitous across all surgeries, which may influence perioperative pain. Recognition of these factors and their association with pain and analgesia requirements could provide avenues for improved perioperative care.
