Neurodevelopmental outcomes of premature infants with intraventricular hemorrhage across a lifespan.
Seminars in Perinatology, 2022Neurodevelopmental impairment rates remain high among extremely preterm and very low birth weight infants. This review describes the rates of brain injury and neuro-developmental impairment at 2,3 years, early school age, adolescence, and young adulthood

Pathogenesis and prevention of intraventricular hemorrhage.
Seminars in Perinatology, 2022Despite improvements in the mortality rates of preterm infants, rates of germinal matrix intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) have remained static with an overall incidence of 25% in infants less than 32 weeks. The importance of the lesion relates primarily

Periventricular-Intraventricular Hemorrhage
Pediatric Clinics of North America, 1986This article reviews the pathophysiology of PV-IVH, the clinical aspects, the means of establishing the diagnosis, and the problem of posthemorrhagic ventricular dilation. The most recent advances are emphasized.

A review of the role of ultrasound imaging in the diagnosis and study of intraventricular hemorrhage is presented. The characteristics of both early and late scans of germinal matrix, intraventricular, and intraparenchymal hemorrhage, as well as periventricular leukomalacia, have been worked out over the past decade.

PERINATAL CEREBRAL INTRAVENTRICULAR HEMORRHAGE
Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1972Intraventricular hemorrhage was found in 148 instances among 714 consecutive autopsies on stillborn and newborn infants. Increased incidence among the poor and non-Caucasian infants and among infants with congenital pneumonia was related to the higher incidence of premature births in these groups.

Pathogenesis of intraventricular hemorrhage
The Journal of Pediatrics, 1979The article by Kenny et al (Pediatrics 62:465, 1978) on the pathogenesis of intraventricular hemorrhage has prompted some thoughts regarding the role of rapid infusion of concentrated bicarbonate solutions and their relationship to neonatal intracranial hemorrhage.

Traumatic primary intraventricular hemorrhage
Surgical Neurology, 1981Two patients with primary intraventricular hemorrhage following mild head injury are presented. Both patients experienced a rapid loss of consciousness after a lucid interval following the head injury. Conray ventriculography or computerized tomography revealed intraventricular hematoma originating in the third ventricle and causing an obstructive ...

Primary intraventricular traumatic hemorrhage
Surgical Neurology, 1987The history of five patients, having developed intraventricular bleeding following head injury, was reviewed. Only two patients survived, one of whom eventually lapsed into a persistent vegetative state. The only patient showing good recovery was an 8-year-old girl.
