The moment of intraventricular hemorrhage

Brain and Development, 1988
A continuous monitoring of the germinal layer by linear scanning ultrasound has been proposed for the purpose of ascertaining the moment of intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH). Using a VHS videotape, we performed the 48 hours monitoring in 7 immature infants weighing less than 1,000 g who required respiratory support.

Thrombolytics in intraventricular hemorrhage

Current Neurology and Neuroscience Reports, 2007
Intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) may occur as an isolated event from primary ventricular bleeding or as a complication of brain hemorrhage from another etiology. It is associated with high mortality and morbidity. Recent translational and clinical studies demonstrate that thrombolytic drugs administered intraventricularly through an external ...

Thrombolysis for Intraventricular Hemorrhage

Seminars in Thrombosis and Hemostasis, 2013
Intraventricular hemorrhage is a frequent complication of intracerebral hemorrhage and is independently associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Intraventricular fibrinolytic therapy is used with increasing frequency to accelerate clot clearance.

Intraventricular hemorrhage in adults

Current Treatment Options in Neurology, 1999
Intraventricular hemorrhage (IVH) in adults usually occurs in the setting of aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage or hypertension-related intracerebral hemorrhage. Thus, the underlying cause of IVH is apparent from history and radiographic findings.

Indomethacin tocolysis and intraventricular hemorrhage

Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2001
To determine the association between indomethacin tocolysis and neonatal intraventricular hemorrhage.Fifty-six preterm neonates with intraventricular hemorrhage were matched by gestational age with neonates (n = 224) without this morbidity. Maternal and neonatal charts were reviewed to ascertain the type of tocolytic exposure experienced by the neonate.

Neonatal Intraventricular Hemorrhage

Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1981
PERIVENTRICULAR-intraventricular hemorrhage is by far the most important variety of neonatal intracranial hemorrhage because it is both a common and a serious lesion.

Anesthesia and Intraventricular Hemorrhage

Pediatrics, 1988
To the Editor.— The study by Goddard-Finegold and Armstrong1 demonstrated a decreased incidence in intraventricular hemorrhage in hypertensive beagle puppies pretreated with phenobarbital. However, there was no discussion of the possible effects of the anesthetic agent, ketamine, on their results.

PERINATAL CEREBRAL INTRAVENTRICULAR HEMORRHAGE

Obstetrical & Gynecological Survey, 1972
Intraventricular hemorrhage was found in 148 instances among 714 consecutive autopsies on stillborn and newborn infants. Increased incidence among the poor and non-Caucasian infants and among infants with congenital pneumonia was related to the higher incidence of premature births in these groups.

Subarachnoid and Intraventricular Hemorrhage

2012
Subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) accounts for 5% of all strokes but its burden is relevant due to high mortality, high disability and a remarkable incidence in the young. The rupture of an intracranial aneurysm is responsible for about 85% of SAHs; 10% are represented by non-aneurysmal conditions; 5% are represented by other medical conditions such as ...

The prognosis of intraventricular haemorrhage

Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery, 1979
A series of 40 patients with blood in the cerebral ventricular system demonstrated by computed tomography (CT) is presented. Overall prognosis was found to be better than expected from the literature. Nearly half of the patients are still alive; 12 of the 40 patients in this study had no significant residual disability.
