Synthesis of Fucosylated Chondroitin Sulfate Nonasaccharide as a Novel Anticoagulant Targeting Intrinsic Factor Xase Complex.

Angewandte Chemie, 2018
Fucosylated chondroitin sulfate (FuCS) is a structurally distinct glycosaminoglycan, and its oligosaccharides exhibit excellent anticoagulant activity with lower risks of adverse effects and bleeding.

Synucleinopathies: Intrinsic and Extrinsic Factors

Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics, 2023
α-Synucleinopathies are a group of neurodegenerative disorders characterized by alterations in α-synuclein (α-syn), a protein associated with membrane phospholipids, whose precise function in normal cells is still unknown. These kinds of diseases are caused by multiple factors, but the regulation of the α-syn gene is believed to play a central role in ...

Identification of Intrinsic Factor Autoantibody and Intrinsic Factor in Man by Radioimmunodiffusion and Radioimmunoelectrophoresis

The Journal of Immunology, 1965
Summary A micro-method for the detection of both intrinsic factor autoantibody and intrinsic factor which combines the techniques of immunodiffusion and immunoelectrophoresis with radioautography has been described. A radioactive precipitin are demonstrable by radioautography formed when a mixture containing a complex of human intrinsic ...

Distribution of ‘Intrinsic Factor’ Activity

American Journal of Physiology-Legacy Content, 1958
After preincubation with hog intrinsic factor concentrate (HIFC), marked enhancement of Co60-labeled vitamin B12 uptake at 0°C by rat and human liver slices and by segments of rat small intestine was observable. No such marked enhancement by HIFC was observable in rat kidney, heart or spleen slices.

Intestinal absorption of intrinsic factor and B12-intrinsic factor complex

American Journal of Physiology-Legacy Content, 1964
Evidence is presented which suggests that the vitamin B12-intrinsic factor (B12-IF) complex is absorbed into the intestinal epithelial cell. Following incubation of sacs of hamster ileum with B12-IF complex, the tissue was washed, the mucosa was homogenized and assayed for the complex.

An assay for gastric intrinsic factor

American Journal of Physiology-Legacy Content, 1963
The stimulation of vitamin B12 uptake by small segments of hamster ileum in the presence of gastric intrinsic factor (IF) has been utilized as a quantitative assay for rat and hamster IF. About 100–150 small segments of everted ileum of the hamster were mixed in a beaker and aliquots of approximately 10 were incubated in flasks containing radioactive ...

SECRETION OF GASTRIC INTRINSIC FACTOR

The Lancet, 1967
Abstract THE output of gastric intrinsic factor has been determined in eight healthy controls and in forty patients with various gastroduodenal disorders but without pernicious anaemia. The stimulus was a continuous intravenous infusion of histamine at a dose of 40 μg. per kg. per hour.
