Air Traffic Complexity Map Based on Linear Dynamical Systems

open access: yesAerospace, 2022
This paper presents a new air traffic complexity metric based on linear dynamical systems, of which the goal is to quantify the intrinsic complexity of a set of aircraft trajectories.

Inflation for Bianchi IX model

open access: yes, 1996
The influence of Inflation on initial (i.e. at Planck's epoch) large anisotropy of the Universe is studied, considering a more general metric than the isotropic one: the locally rotationally symmetric (L.R.S.) Bianchi IX metric.

Microbial exopolysaccharide production by polyextremophiles in the adaptation to multiple extremes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Polyextremophiles are microorganisms that endure multiple extreme conditions by various adaptation strategies that also include the production of exopolysaccharides (EPSs). This review provides an integrated perspective on EPS biosynthesis, function, and regulation in these organisms, emphasizing their critical role in survival and highlighting their ...

Multi-Label Metric Transfer Learning Jointly Considering Instance Space and Label Space Distribution Divergence

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Multi-label learning deals with problems in which each instance is associated with a set of labels. Most multi-label learning algorithms ignore the potential distribution differences between the training domain and the test domain in the instance space ...

Single cis‐elements in brassinosteroid‐induced upregulated genes are insufficient to recruit both redox states of the BIL1/BZR1 DNA‐binding domain

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phytohormone brassinosteroid‐induced gene regulation by the transcription factor BIL1/BZR1 involves redox‐dependent DNA‐binding alternation and interaction with the transcription factor PIF4. The reduced BIL1/BZR1 dimer binds preferred cis‐elements, while oxidation alters its oligomerization state and disrupts DNA‐binding ability.

Robust Recovery of Corrupted Image Data Based on $L_{1-2}$ Metric

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
For removing noises and recovering intrinsic structure from corrupted image data, a classic modeling approach is based on sparsity assumption. In traditionally, the sparsity is measured by L1-norm.

On Properties of the Intrinsic Geometry of Submanifolds in a Riemannian Manifold [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In the paper we study the properties of a metric function which is the extension by continuity of the intrinsic metric of the interior of a submanifold to its boundary.

Structural dynamics of the plant hormone receptor ETR1 in a native‐like membrane environment

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The present study unveils the structural and signaling dynamics of ETR1, a key plant ethylene receptor. Using an optimized nanodisc system and solution NMR, we captured full‐length ETR1 in a native‐like membrane environment. Our findings reveal dynamic domain uncoupling and Cu(I)‐induced rigidification, providing the first evidence of metal‐triggered ...

Intrinsic Optimal Control for Mechanical Systems on Lie Group

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2017
The intrinsic infinite horizon optimal control problem of mechanical systems on Lie group is investigated. The geometric optimal control problem is built on the intrinsic coordinate-free model, which is provided with Levi-Civita connection.

The Intrinsic 150‐Day Periodicity of the Southern Hemisphere Extratropical Large‐Scale Atmospheric Circulation

open access: yesAGU Advances, 2023
The variability of the Southern Hemisphere (SH) extratropical large‐scale circulation is dominated by the Southern Annular Mode (SAM), whose timescale is extensively used as a key metric in evaluating state‐of‐the‐art climate models.
