In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Adapting observationally based metrics of biogeophysical feedbacks from land cover/land use change to climate modeling

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters, 2016
To assess the biogeophysical impacts of land cover/land use change (LCLUC) on surface temperature, two observation-based metrics and their applicability in climate modeling were explored in this study.

Intrinsically Hölder Sections in Metric Spaces

open access: yesWSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON MATHEMATICS
We introduce the notion of intrinsically Holder graphs in metric spaces that generalized the one of ¨ intrinsically Lipschitz sections. This concept is relevant because it has many properties similar to Holder maps but ¨ is profoundly different from them.

Potential therapeutic targeting of BKCa channels in glioblastoma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review summarizes current insights into the role of BKCa and mitoBKCa channels in glioblastoma biology, their potential classification as oncochannels, and the emerging pharmacological strategies targeting these channels, emphasizing the translational challenges in developing BKCa‐directed therapies for glioblastoma treatment.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

On the holomorphic curvature of some intrinsic metrics [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1977
If G is a hyperbolic manifold in the sense of Kobayashi and the differential Kobayashi metric K G {K_G} is of class C 2 {C^2} , then the holomorphic curvature of K G {K_G} is greater than or ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

CrossDI: A comprehensive dataset crossing three databases for calculating disruption indexes

open access: yesScientific Data
The Disruption Index (DI) is a significant metric for identifying research that expands scientific frontiers and pioneers new fields. Unlike readily accessible metrics like citation counts, DI requires complex analysis of citation patterns, specifically,

Error metrics determination in functionally approximated circuits using SAT solvers.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2020
Approximate computing is an emerging design paradigm that offers trade-offs between output accuracy and computation efforts by exploiting some applications' intrinsic error resiliency.
