New Universality Class at the Superconductor--Insulator Transition
We study dynamic properties of thin films near the superconductor - insulator transition. We formulate the problem in a phase representation. The key new feature of our model is the assumption of a {\it local} ohmic dissipative mechanism. Coarse graining

From Waste to Value: Conversion of Calcium Sulfate to Vaterite via Carbon Capture and Storage
This study introduces a new concept for carbon management that relies on the carbonation of industrial gypsum waste and yields phase‐pure vaterite at ambient conditions without any additives. The obtained vaterite is further shown to be a reactive material that develops compressive strength in aqueous suspensions like conventional cements.

Viscoelasticity‐driven instabilities are harnessed to create tunable, periodic textures in 3D‐printed liquid crystalline polymers. This study illustrates how processing parameters control these spontaneous meso‐scale patterns. These unique structural architectures unlock new possibilities for functional devices, ranging from photonic components to ...

Intrinsic Universal Measurements of Non-linear Embeddings
A basic problem in machine learning is to find a mapping $f$ from a low dimensional latent space $\mathcal{Y}$ to a high dimensional observation space $\mathcal{X}$. Modern tools such as deep neural networks are capable to represent general non-linear mappings. A learner can easily find a mapping which perfectly fits all the observations. However, such

Gravity as an emergent phenomenon: a GFT perspective
While the idea of gravity as an emergent phenomenon is an intriguing one, little is known about concrete implementations that could lead to viable phenomenology, most of the obstructions being related to the intrinsic difficulties of formulating ...

Switchable Supramolecular Adhesive by Tuning Interfacial Bonding and Modulus
The supramolecular adhesive (HyDiP) shows reversible adhesion and recyclability. In the dehydrated state, it is dense, stiff (E ≈445 MPa), transparent, and provides strong bonding with adhesion strengths up to 4.65 MPa. In the hydrated state, it becomes porous, soft (E ≈0.11 MPa), and detaches easily, enabling sustainable high‐strength applications ...
