Parameters Affecting the Intrinsic Viscosity

2004
The concentration is not a true parameter affecting the intrinsic viscosity since the intrinsic viscosity is defined in ideal dilution (c→0) according to Eq. (4.7). Nevertheless, the influence of the concentration on the reduced viscosity ηred is of great importance for the determination of the intrinsic viscosity.

Intrinsic Viscosity of Coiling Macromolecules

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1964
The intrinsic viscosity of coiling molecules has been calculated using the Kirkwood—Riseman adaptation of the Oseen approximation. Four different models of chain segment distribution were treated: (a) a Gaussian coil, (b) an excluded volume model of Kurata and Yamakawa, (c) a coil expansion model suggested by Peterlin and (d) an excluded volume model ...

Methods for estimating intrinsic viscosity

Journal of Polymer Science, 1949
AbstractA number of equations are suggested for estimating intrinsic viscosity from one measurement of relative viscosity at a convenient concentration. Experimental data illustrate the validity of the equations.
