Single‐ and Dual‐Atom Configurations in Atomically Dispersed Catalysts for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Single‐atom and dual‐atom‐based atomically dispersed catalysts (ADCs) effectively address the shuttle effect and sluggish redox kinetics in Li–S batteries. With nearly 100% atomic utilization and tunable coordination environments, ADCs enhance LiPSs adsorption, lower conversion barriers, and accelerate sulfur redox reactions.

Design of intrinsically safe field source signal transmission device for electrical method monitoring system with adaptive grounding resistance

open access: yesMeikuang Anquan
Electrical monitoring technology is widely applied in mines with high risk of water inrush because of its high sensitivity to the change of coal resistivity. However, due to the complex working environment of the two lanes of the underground working face,

Temperature‐Robust Interphase Enables Carboxylate‐Ester Electrolyte for Stabilizing High‐Voltage Sodium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A synergistic electrolyte engineering strategy of employing ethyl acetate (EA) with vinylene carbonate (VC) as multifunctional additives is initially pioneered, making various as‐prepared high‐voltage wide‐temperature sodium batteries work well via the formation of a gradient and temperature‐robust interphase.

One-step multi-qubit GHZ state generation in a circuit QED system

open access: yes, 2009
We propose a one-step scheme to generate GHZ states for superconducting flux qubits or charge qubits in a circuit QED setup. The GHZ state can be produced within the coherence time of the multi-qubit system. Our scheme is independent of the initial state

Unlocking Photodetection Mode Switching from a Simple Lateral Design

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A simple lateral 2D perovskite photodetector capable of switching among transient, continuous, and dual transient/continuous photoresponse modes is achieved by integrating photoconductive effects with capacitive coupling from the SiO2/Si substrate. Such light‐programmable photodetection mode switching enables triple‐channel information transmission and

An Ethical Expose on the Oral Arguments in Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Woods v. Sebelius

open access: yesVoices in Bioethics, 2014
As the oral arguments in Hobby Lobby and Conestoga Wood Specialties v. Sebelius seem to attain a crescendo and stand at the threshold of a significant ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States, it is important to reflect tacitly on some of the ...
