Genetic Dissection of Rice Ratooning Ability Using an Introgression Line Population and Substitution Mapping of a Pleiotropic Quantitative Trait Locus qRA5 [PDF]
Plants, 2022 Ratooning ability is a key factor that influences ratoon rice yield, in the area where light and temperature are not enough for second season rice. In the present study, an introgression line population derived from Minghui 63 as the recipient parent and

A novel introgression line collection to unravel the genetics of climacteric ripening and fruit quality in melon [PDF]
Scientific Reports, 2021 Introgression lines are valuable germplasm for scientists and breeders, since they ease genetic studies such as QTL interactions and positional cloning as well as the introduction of favorable alleles into elite varieties.

The Genomic and Phenotypic Characterization of the Sym2A Introgression Line A33.18 of Pea (Pisum sativum L.) with the Increased Specificity of Root Nodule Symbiosis [PDF]
PlantsIn pea (Pisum sativum L.), alleles of the Sym2 gene determine the specificity of the interaction with nodule bacteria (rhizobia). The Sym2A allele present in landraces from Afghanistan provides higher selectiveness toward rhizobia than the Sym2E allele ...

Yield-enhancing heterotic QTL transferred from wild species to cultivated rice Oryza sativa L. [PDF]
PLoS ONE, 2014 Utilization of "hidden genes" from wild species has emerged as a novel option for enrichment of genetic diversity for productivity traits. In rice we have generated more than 2000 lines having introgression from 'A' genome-donor wild species of rice in ...

Factors influencing the efficiency of a marker-assisted introgression programme in Merino sheep
Genetics Selection Evolution, 2007 This study investigated a marker-assisted introgression programme in Australian Merino sheep. The goal was to introgress an allele with a large negative effect on fibre diameter into a Merino flock possessing medium average fibre diameter.

Current Perspectives on Introgression Breeding in Food Legumes
Frontiers in Plant Science, 2021 Food legumes are important for defeating malnutrition and sustaining agri-food systems globally. Breeding efforts in legume crops have been largely confined to the exploitation of genetic variation available within the primary genepool, resulting in ...
