Predictors of Loneliness in Parkinson's Disease and Craniocervical Dystonia

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Loneliness is a state in which an individual feels socially isolated due to deficiencies in the quantity or quality of social relationships and interaction. BMP signalling in colorectal cancer: losing the yin to WNTs yang

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, EarlyView.
Abstract Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common form of cancer globally, and arises from the hyperproliferation of epithelial cells in the intestine. The architecture and maintenance of these cells is governed by two major signalling pathways working in a counter‐gradient: the stem cell WNT signalling pathway, and the prodifferentiation bone ...

Major and Trace Element Composition Differences Revealed in Porcine Intestine by Dynamic Analysis and MeV Ion Microscopy

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), EarlyView.
Herein, C, N, and Ca concentration images in dry porcine intestine are used to determine trace element concentrations ex vivo. Physiologically relevant concentrations in biological tissue, in the in vivo, state are of the order of μmol L−1 and mmol L−1.

Multidimensional Evaluation in Primary Progressive Aphasia: Cognitive, Language, Swallowing, Quality of Life, Independence Status, and Depression

open access: yesSensory Neuroscience, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Given the heterogeneity of primary progressive aphasia (PPA), this study aims to illustrate its varying clinical presentations by examining the disease course and specific symptoms of an individual patient, alongside the results of a comprehensive multidimensional assessment.

Nanomedicine Approaches for Autophagy Modulation in Cancer Therapy

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
Autophagy modulation holds promise for enhancing cancer treatment, yet clinical translation remains challenging. This review explores nanomedicine‐based strategies to improve autophagy‐targeting drugs, highlighting their synergy with chemotherapy, immunotherapy, phototherapy, and gene therapy. It also discusses nanoparticle design and clinical progress,
