Effect of Organic-Inorganic Mixed Intumescent Flame Retardants on Intumescent Fire-Retardant Coatings

open access: yes
Expandable graphite (EG) was modified with a charring agent and organic-inorganic hybridised intumescent flame retardants (MEG) were synthesized. This study uses a cone calorimeter (CCT) and a DaqPRO 5300 radiation heat flow meter to evaluate the fire-resistant properties influenced by MEG on intumescent fire-retardant coatings.

Effect of Functionalized Graphene Oxide with Hyper-Branched Flame Retardant on Flammability and Thermal Stability of Cross-Linked Polyethylene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this work, GO was functionalized by a hyper-branched flame retardant, which was synthesized by the reaction of N-aminoethyl piperazine and di(acryloyloxyethyl)methylphosphonate. Subsequently, the resultant functionalized GO (FGO) was incorporated into

Synergistic Effects of Titanium-Based MOFs MIL-125 with Intumescent Flame Retardants in ABS Polymer Composites on Flame Retardancy Study

open access: yesFire
The intumescent flame retardant (IFR) technique is an alternative to halogen-based flame retardants for reducing fire hazards in polymers. However, IFR has drawbacks like unsatisfactory flame-retardant efficiency and high loading requirements.

RESEARCH OF EFFECTIVENESS OF „PLAMOSTOP“ FIRE

open access: yesTransactions of the VŠB: Technical University of Ostrava, Safety Engineering Series, 2016
The paper deals with testing of a water-miscible intumescent fire retardant. Experiments are conducted by thermal analysis (TG / DTG, DSC), cone calorimeter and non-standardized methods for monitoring weight loss when exposed to flame burning.

Enzymatic Modification of Polyamide for Improving the Conductivity of Water-Based Multilayer Nanocoatings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Enzymatic modification, using a protease from Bacillus licheniformis (Subtilisin A), was carried out on polyamide 6.6 (PA6.6) fabric to make it more amenable to water-based nanocoatings used to impart electrical conductivity. The modified PA6.6 fibers
