Long‐term stability analysis of beam shape in a robotic radiosurgery system

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study aimed to investigate the long‐term stability of CyberKnife beam profile parameters and assess their compliance with existing quality assurance (QA) guidelines. We evaluated beam profiles in both standard and diagonal planes over 3.5 years post‐installation to detect potential issues and ensure consistent beam quality.

Scaling Symmetries and Conservation Laws for Variable-coefficients Nonlinear Dispersive Equations

open access: yesTrends in Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2019
Scaling symmetries arise in different branches of physics, and symmetry-based approaches are powerful tools for studying scaling-invariant models since they can provide conservation laws that are not obvious by inspection.

Implications of the CDF t \bar t Forward-Backward Asymmetry for Hard Top Physics

open access: yes, 2011
The CDF collaboration has recently reported a large deviation from the standard model of the t \bar t forward-backward asymmetry in the high invariant mass region.

The general invariance of physical laws

open access: yes, 2017
Physical laws are a set of rules in the relationship between observations made by the experimenter. All these observations are made through a mechanism that links the external world to the experimenter's awareness, a mechanism which is not under the experimenter's control.

Gauge invariance and anomalies in condensed matter physics

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2023
This paper begins with a summary of a powerful formalism for the study of electronic states in condensed matter physics called “gauge theory of states/phases of matter.” The chiral anomaly, which plays quite a prominent role in that formalism, is recalled.

Demonstration of an enhanced dosing pattern for debulking large and bulky unresectable tumors via differential hole‐size spatially fractionated radiotherapy

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose/objective We propose a novel lattice deployment for spatially fractionated radiotherapy (SFRT) treatments. In this approach, a larger diameter high‐dose sphere is centrally placed in the bulky tumor mass and surrounded by smaller diameter high‐dose spheres.

Applications of Symmetry Methods to the Theory of Plasma Physics

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2006
The theory of plasma physics offers a number of nontrivial examples of partial differential equations, which can be successfully treated with symmetry methods.

Possible Supersymmetric Effects on Angular Distributions in $B \to K^* (\to K \pi) \ell^+ \ell^- $ Decays

open access: yes, 2001
We investigate the angular distributions of the rare B decay, $B \to K^* (\to K \pi) \ell^+ \ell^-$, in general supersymmetric extensions of the standard model.

Communication: Fitting potential energy surfaces with fundamental invariant neural network.

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Physics, 2016
A more flexible neural network (NN) method using the fundamental invariants (FIs) as the input vector is proposed in the construction of potential energy surfaces for molecular systems involving identical atoms.

Radiotherapy medical physics in the Philippines: A contemporary overview

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose With cancer ranking as the third leading cause of death in the Philippines and a disparity in healthcare resources across regions, this research aimed to assess the state of radiotherapy medical physics in the country. Methodology The study utilized a comprehensive online survey with 94 structured questions answered by 19 clinics ...
