Scale-invariant dynamical fluctuations in jet physics [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C, 1999
An interpretation of scale-invariant multiplicity fluctuations inside hadronic jets is presented. It is based on the branching mechanism with the angular ordering of soft partons in sequential branchings. A relationship with fractal distributions is demonstrated.

Applications of Symmetry Methods to the Theory of Plasma Physics

open access: yesSymmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications, 2006
The theory of plasma physics offers a number of nontrivial examples of partial differential equations, which can be successfully treated with symmetry methods.

Isomorphism between Differential and Moment Invariants under Affine Transform [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
The invariant is one of central topics in science, technology and engineering. The differential invariant is essential in understanding or describing some important phenomena or procedures in mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology or computer science etc. The derivation of differential invariants is usually difficult or complicated.

Examples of naturally reductive pseudo-Riemannian Lie groups

open access: yes, 2011
We provide examples of naturally reductive pseudo-Riemannian spaces, in particular an example of a naturally reductive pseudo-Riemannian 2-step nilpotent Lie group $(N, _N)$, such that $_N$ is invariant under a left action and for which the center is ...

Assessing proton plans with three different beam delivery systems versus photon plans for head and neck tumors

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To compare plan quality among photon volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) and intensity‐modulated proton therapy (IMPT) with robustness using three different proton beam delivery systems with various spot size (σ) ranges: cyclotron‐generated proton beams (CPBs) (σ: 2.7–7.0 mm), linear accelerator proton beams (LPBs) (σ: 2.9–5.5 mm),

IROC phantoms accurately detect MLC delivery errors

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose We evaluated the impact of random and whole‐bank multileaf collimator (MLC) delivery errors on dosimetric delivery accuracy in the Imaging and Radiation Oncology Core (IROC) phantom audits, as well as differences in delivery accuracy between the IROC phantom prescription and typical clinical fraction sizes.

The effect of multi‐leaf collimator leaf width on VMAT treatment plan quality

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The advent of volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) in radiotherapy has made it one of the most commonly used techniques in clinical practice. VMAT is the delivery of intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) while the gantry is in motion, and existing literature has shown it has decreased treatment delivery times and the ...

More on complexity of operators in quantum field theory

open access: yes, 2019
Recently it has been shown that the complexity of SU($n$) operator is determined by the geodesic length in a bi-invariant Finsler geometry, which is constrained by some symmetries of quantum field theory.

Scale invariance in cosmology and physics

open access: yes, 2011
The fundamental laws of physics are required to be invariant under local spatial scale change. In 3-dimensional space, this leads to a variation in Planck constant \hbar and speed of light c. They vary as \hbar ~ a^(1/2) and c ~ a^(-1/2), a is the local scale.

Some new invariant solutions of nonlinear fifth order partial differential equation via Lie approach

open access: yesPartial Differential Equations in Applied Mathematics
In this paper, the classical Lie symmetry analysis of (1+3) dimensional perturbed Zakharov–Kuznetsov (pZK) equation has been studied. We present a thorough classification of Lie point symmetries for pZK equation.
