Physical invariants for nonlinear orthotropic solids
Seven invariants, with immediate physical interpretation, are proposed for the strain energy function of nonlinear orthotropic elastic solids. Three of the seven invariants are the principal stretch ratios and the other four are squares of the dot product between the two preferred directions and two principal directions of the right stretch tensor.

Abstract Purpose This study evaluates the dosimetric and geometric precision of a virtual cone technique using CBCT‐based polymer gel dosimetry, enabling radiation delivery, and imaging readout within an identical spatial coordinate system. Methods We created a C# script for a virtual cone technique that generates a treatment plan with 10 gantry arcs ...

Bounce Cosmology in a Locally Scale Invariant Physics with a U(1) Symmetry
An asymmetric non-singular bouncing cosmological model is proposed in the framework of a locally scale-invariant scalar-tensor version of the standard model of particle physics and gravitation. The scalar field ϕ is complex.

L lines, C points and Chern numbers: understanding band structure topology using polarization fields
Topology has appeared in different physical contexts. The most prominent application is topologically protected edge transport in condensed matter physics. The Chern number, the topological invariant of gapped Bloch Hamiltonians, is an important quantity

The BRST extension of gauge non-invariant Lagrangians [PDF]
We show that, in gauge theory of principal connections, any gauge non-invariant Lagrangian can be completed to the BRST-invariant one. The BRST extension of the global Chern-Simons Lagrangian is present.

CPT invariance and neutrino physics
CPT invariance in neutrino physics has attracted attention after the revival of the hypothetical idea that neutrino and antineutrino might have nonequal masses ($m_{\bar } \neq m_ $) when realizing neutrino oscillations as a new sensitive phenomenon to search for the violation of this fundamental symmetry.

Abstract Introduction The use of radioactive materials in the United States has been tightly regulated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other entities for many decades. In 2015, however, the Joint Commission began to require hospital‐based nuclear medicine departments to conduct shielding designs and evaluations for radioactive material areas ...

A Python package for fast GPU‐based proton pencil beam dose calculation
Abstract Purpose Open‐source GPU‐based Monte Carlo (MC) proton dose calculation algorithms provide high speed and unparalleled accuracy but can be complex to integrate with new applications and remain slower than GPU‐based pencil beam (PB) methods, which sacrifice some physical accuracy for sub‐second plan calculation.

Construct SLOCC invariants via square matrix [PDF]
We define a square matrices, by which some stochastic local operations and classical communication (SLOCC) invariants can be obtained. The relation of SLOCC invariants and character polynomial of square matrix are given for three and four qubit states.
