Invariant Subspace Attack Against Midori64 and The Resistance Criteria for S-box Designs
We present an invariant subspace attack on the block cipher Midori64, proposed at Asiacrypt 2015. Our analysis shows that Midori64 has a class of 232 weak keys.

This study investigates ground subsidence during tunnel excavation in karst areas, highlighting the combined effects of karst cave proximity, cave size, and soil spatial variability. Findings suggest that shorter cave distances and larger cave sizes increase subsidence variability, and a modified Peck formula is proposed for more accurate subsidence ...

Construction of Frames for Shift-Invariant Spaces
We construct a sequence {ϕi(·-j)∣j∈ℤ, i=1,…,r} which constitutes a p-frame for the weighted shift-invariant space Vμp(Φ)={∑i=1r∑j∈ℤci(j)ϕi(·-j)∣{ci(j)}j∈ℤ∈ℓμp, i=1,…,r}, p∈[1,∞], and generates a closed shift-invariant subspace ...

Machine Learning Approaches to Forecast the Realized Volatility of Crude Oil Prices
ABSTRACT This paper presents an evaluation of the accuracy of machine learning (ML) techniques in forecasting the realized volatility of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil prices. We compare several ML algorithms, including regularization, regression trees, random forests, and neural networks, to several heterogeneous autoregressive (HAR) models ...

Quadratic Hedging of American Options Under GARCH Models
ABSTRACT American options are widely traded in financial markets, yet there is a scarcity of literature on hedging in incomplete markets. In this paper, we derive optimal hedging ratios and option values using Local Risk Minimization (LRM) and Global Risk Minimization (GRM) hedging strategies through dynamic programming.

Subspace-based methods have been effectively used to estimate enhanced speech from noisy speech samples. In the traditional subspace approaches, a critical step is splitting of two invariant subspaces associated with signal and noise via subspace ...

Edge‐Length Preserving Embeddings of Graphs Between Normed Spaces
ABSTRACT The concept of graph embeddability, initially formalized by Belk and Connelly and later expanded by Sitharam and Willoughby, extends the question of embedding finite metric spaces into a given normed space. A finite simple graph G = ( V , E ) $G=(V,E)$ is said to be ( X , Y ) $(X,Y)$‐embeddable if any set of induced edge lengths from an ...

Frozen Differential Scattering in Reconfigurable Complex Media
A localized perturbation universally results in a rank‐one update of the scattering matrix of any complex medium. The resulting differential output wavefront is “frozen”: its spatial pattern is fixed (agnostic to the input wavefront). Experiments with a programmable‐metasurface‐parametrized wireless link validate frozen differential scattering and ...

An introduction to Rota’s universal operators: properties, old and new examples and future issues
The Invariant Subspace Problem for Hilbert spaces is a long-standing question and the use of universal operators in the sense of Rota has been an important tool for studying such important problem.
