An Efficient Method for Transient Temperature Calculation in Oil Natural Transformers Based on the Time‐Space Proper Orthogonal Decomposition

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A reduced‐order model (ROM) for the temperature field based on time‐space proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) is presented to improve the computational efficiency of transient temperature rise in oil‐immersed power transformers with a complete oil natural convection cooling loop.

Recognition of Spatiotemporal Feature Images of Zero‐Sequence Voltage for Single‐Phase High‐Impedance Ground Faults Under Complex Conditions

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Diagnosing high‐impedance ground faults (HIGFs) in distribution networks is extremely challenging because high transition resistance significantly reduces electrical signal strength and unpredictable initial fault phase angles coupled with asymmetric voltage disturbances often lead to misclassification.

Approximate resolution convolution function for fitting a dispersion gap measured on a triple‐axis spectrometer

open access: yesJournal of Applied Crystallography, EarlyView.
An analytical convoluted gap function is presented for fitting either a linear or a quadratic dispersion gap in a constant‐Q cut measured with a focused triple‐axis spectrometer. It outperforms previous methods of fitting a gap, without requiring a full resolution convolution. We present an analytical convoluted gap function for fitting dispersion gaps ...

Gendering Late Ottoman Society and Reconstructing Gender in the Women's Press

open access: yesGender &History, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article analyses the construction of gender differences in the late Ottoman Empire through women's periodicals, which acted as a key medium in the redefinition of gender roles. It examines how new understandings of gender roles emerged amid rapid transformations in traditional societal structures, particularly in the women’s press.

The Ties That Rhyme: Duality in Symbolic and Structural Networks of Grime Music

open access: yesThe British Journal of Sociology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Do birds of a feather really sing together? Musicians face two competing pressures in the pursuit of success: conforming to genre norms to meet audience expectations and distinguishing themselves to attract the attention of listeners. These opposing logics may shape how artists choose their collaborators.

A Mixed Frequency BVAR for the Australian Economy*

open access: yesEconomic Record, EarlyView.
A mixed frequency vector autoregression (MFVAR) model is proposed for nowcasting, forecasting and backcasting Australian macroeconomic indicators at monthly and quarterly frequencies. A novel augmented Minnesota prior for MFVAR models is also introduced.

How much are you willing to pay to avoid lockdowns? Evidence from the real estate market

open access: yesReal Estate Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract In response to the COVID‐19 pandemic, numerous countries implemented lockdowns. In Victoria, Australia, a unique two‐tier system was employed, segregating areas with a Ring of Steel boundary and imposing additional restrictions within. This study focuses on the impact of lockdowns on housing prices and rents, exploring whether people are ...
