The fact that for any linear operator \(A\) on a finite-dimensional complex vector space, the lattice of invariant subspaces of \(A\) coincides with the set of ranges of the operators which commute with \(A\), was pointed out by \textit{P. R. Halmos} [Linear Algebra Appl. 4, 11-15 (1971; Zbl 0264.15001)].

The Ties That Rhyme: Duality in Symbolic and Structural Networks of Grime Music
ABSTRACT Do birds of a feather really sing together? Musicians face two competing pressures in the pursuit of success: conforming to genre norms to meet audience expectations and distinguishing themselves to attract the attention of listeners. These opposing logics may shape how artists choose their collaborators.

Continuity properties of hyperlat and reducing subspaces
We determine points of continuity, upper semicontinuity, and lower semicontinuity of the following two maps from the space of all linear operators on a finite-dimensional complex vector space V into sets of subspaces of V: Hyperlat, which associates with

How much are you willing to pay to avoid lockdowns? Evidence from the real estate market
Abstract In response to the COVID‐19 pandemic, numerous countries implemented lockdowns. In Victoria, Australia, a unique two‐tier system was employed, segregating areas with a Ring of Steel boundary and imposing additional restrictions within. This study focuses on the impact of lockdowns on housing prices and rents, exploring whether people are ...

Fast Injective Mesh Parameterization via Beltrami Coefficient Prolongation
Abstract We present a highly efficient and robust method for free boundary injective parameterization of disk‐like triangle meshes with low isometric distortion. Harmonic function–based approaches, grounded in a strong mathematical framework, are widely employed.

Orbit operator and invariant subspaces.
The invariant subspace problem is the long-standing question whether every operator on a Hilbert space of dimension greater than one has a non-trivial invariant subspace.

Operators on Fréchet spaces without nontrivial invariant subspaces [PDF]
Wydział Matematyki i Informatyki: Zakład Analizy FunkcjonalnejGłówna część rozprawy opisuje konstrukcję ciągłych operatorów liniowych bez nietrywialnych podprzestrzeni niezmienniczych na wielu pojawiających się naturalnie w analizie przestrzeniach ...

This paper is a follow-up contribution to our work (Sarkar in J Oper Theory, 73:433–441, 2015) where we discussed some invariant subspace results for contractions on Hilbert spaces. Here we extend the results of (Sarkar in J Oper Theory, 73:433–441, 2015)

Affinification: A Fine Approximation of Deformations
Abstract We introduce affinification, a novel method for accelerating physics‐based animation of elastic solids. During a time‐dependent simulation, our method automatically partitions the space into affine and elastic regions depending on the deformation.
