Endophytic and ectomycorrhizal, an overlooked dual ecological niche? Insights from natural environments and Russula species

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summary Ectomycorrhizal fungi (EcMF) are key components of temperate ecosystems, and recent studies suggest that they can also inhabit non‐EcM plant roots as endophytes. We aimed to (1) provide new evidence of EcMF colonization of non‐EcM hosts, (2) offer direct microscopic confirmation of such endophytism and (3) assess factors influencing ...

‘Missing persons’: Ancient legacies of human–environment interaction in tropical natural properties inscribed under the 1972 World Heritage Convention

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue S2, Page S9-S30, May 2026.
Abstract Cultural and natural values form the core of World Heritage designation. Properties displaying both values, however, comprise a fraction of inscriptions (currently c. 3%) to the World Heritage List. In 1992, when that fraction stood at c. 5%, adoption of the popular ‘cultural landscapes’ category of cultural heritage in 1992 was therefore ...

Diagnostic and Prognostic Values of Bile Biomarkers for Malignant Biliary Stenosis

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Differentiating between malignant and benign biliary strictures remains a clinical challenge because current diagnostic tools have limited sensitivity. The detection of tumour‐related biomarkers directly in bile, which is in close contact with the lesion, may enhance diagnostic accuracy.

Hepatitis B Virus, Pneumococcal, Diphtheria, and Tetanus Vaccination Responses in Compensated Cirrhosis

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Cirrhosis favours infections that can lead to liver decompensation and death. Some of these infections can be prevented by vaccination. This study aimed to evaluate the immune response after HBV, pneumococcal, diphtheria, and tetanus vaccination in cirrhotic patients.

Retour d'expérience - Éco-pâturage caprin de la renouée du Japon sur zone humide en Mayenne

open access: yesSciences, Eaux & Territoires, 2019
En 2011, une expérimentation préalable d'éco-pâturage caprin (Chèvre des fossés) a été menée dans une zone humide de Mayenne dans le but de contrôler des herbiers de Renouées du Japon.

Quantifying and Mapping Regional C, N and P Stocks From Temperate Fens, Bogs, and Forested Peatlands Using Detailed Peat Bathymetry

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences, Volume 131, Issue 4, April 2026.
Abstract Peatlands are known to store significant amounts of carbon (C), nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) globally. At the regional level, however, C stocks are often poorly assessed as peat depth variability within and among different types of individual peatlands is often ignored, and nutrient stock assessments are rare or based on limited ...

Global determinants of home range sizes in felids: Evidence of human disturbance impact

open access: yesJournal of Animal Ecology, Volume 95, Issue 4, Page 697-711, April 2026.
This study is the first to demonstrate the influence of anthropogenic factors and species richness in felids on home range size across the entire felid taxon. Felids are a taxon of major interest in conservation biology, and gaining a comprehensive view of their spatial ecology will help derive global conservation recommendations.
