Extinction Debt Paid Off: The Demise of the European Polecat (Mustela putorius) in NE Iberia
Integrative Zoology, EarlyView.We studied a vanishing polecat population for a decade, until its ultimate demise, using camera trap and roadkill data, landscape descriptors and dietary and toxicological analyses.Polecat favoured farmland and avoided forests and water bodies occupied by the invasive American mink.

Urbanization and Vector Species Shape Avian Malaria Prevalence in Mosquitoes
Integrative Zoology, EarlyView.Avian malaria prevalence was assessed in two mosquito species across urban and peri‐urban habitats. No infections were detected in either species in urban areas, while a 2.53% prevalence was found in the native Culex pipiens from peri‐urban sites, highlighting the influence of urbanization on parasite transmission dynamics.
