Moments of the generalized hyperbolic distribution [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we demonstrate a recursive method for obtaining the moments of the generalized hyperbolic distribution. The method is readily programmable for numerical evaluation of moments.

Hadronic gamma-ray images of Sedov supernova remnants

open access: yes, 2011
A number of modern experiments in high-energy astrophysics produce images of supernova remnants (SNRs) in the TeV and GeV gamma-rays. Either relativistic electrons (due to the inverse-Compton scattering) or protons (due to the pion decays) may be ...

Generalised covariance intersection‐Gamma Gaussian Inverse Wishart‐Poisson multi‐Bernoulli Mixture: An intelligent multiple extended target tracking scheme for mobile aquaculture sensor networks

open access: yesIET Wireless Sensor Systems
Poisson multi‐Bernoulli Mixture (PMBM) filter has been known as an available or practical point and multiple extended target tracking (METT) method. The authors present an improved PMBM filter with adaptive detection probability and adaptive newborn ...

Parametric Bayesian Estimation of Differential Entropy and Relative Entropy

open access: yesEntropy, 2010
Given iid samples drawn from a distribution with known parametric form, we propose the minimization of expected Bregman divergence to form Bayesian estimates of differential entropy and relative entropy, and derive such estimators for the uniform ...

Electrically Tunable On‐Chip Topological Photonics with Integrated Carbon Nanotubes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates electrically tunable on‐chip topological THz devices by integrating 2D carbon nanotube (CNT) sheets with valley‐Hall photonic crystals, enabling broadband transmission modulation (71% modulation depth) and tunable narrowband filtering (0.54 GHz shift) through electrically induced thermal tuning. This advancement paves the way for

Efficient Bayesian Inference in Generalized Inverse Gamma Processes for Stochastic Volatility [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
経済学 / EconomicsThis paper develops a novel and efficient algorithm for Bayesian inference in inverse Gamma Stochastic Volatility models. It is shown that by conditioning on auxiliary variables, it is possible to sample all the volatilities jointly ...

On a Multiplicative Multivariate Gamma Distribution With Applications in Insurance

open access: yesRisks, 2018
One way to formulate a multivariate probability distribution with dependent univariate margins distributed gamma is by using the closure under convolutions property.

Grain Boundary Space Charge Engineering of Solid Oxide Electrolytes: Model Thin Film Study

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates unprecedented control of grain boundary electrical properties in solid electrolytes. Selective diffusion of cations through grain boundaries in thin films enables 12 orders of magnitude variation in ionic resistance, proving that systematic chemical modification of grain boundary electrical properties is feasible.

Microsphere Autolithography—A Scalable Approach for Arbitrary Patterning of Dielectric Spheres

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MicroSphere Autolithography (µSAL) enables scalable fabrication of patchy particles with customizable surface motifs. Focusing light through dielectric microspheres creates well defined, tunable patches via a conformal poly(dopamine) photoresist. Nearly arbitrary surface patterns can be achieved, with the resolution set by the index contrast between ...
