Improvement of a stepwise primary diagnosis method of a beam structure using a force identification technique (Proposition of virtual measurement)

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal, 2014
Machine condition monitoring and diagnosis have become increasingly important. It is generally considered that larger numbers of sensors will supply useful information for diagnosis, although the number of sensors is limited in actual applications.

Analysis and Algorithms for Stemming Inversion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Stemming is a fundamental technique for processing large amounts of data in information retrieval and text mining. However, after processing the reversal of this process is often desirable, e.g., for human interpretation, or methods which operate on sequences of characters.

The cooperative regulation of miR‐221 by APE1 and AUF1 impacts p27Kip1 defining a miR signature relevant for cervical cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A regulatory axis involving APE1, AUF1, and miR‐221 is proposed. Pri‐miR‐221 is processed by DROSHA and DICER to generate mature miR‐221, which targets p27Kip1 mRNA. APE1 and AUF1 compete for pre‐miR‐221 binding. Reduced APE1/AUF1 levels impair miR‐221 biogenesis, decrease p27Kip1 mRNA degradation, and promote cell cycle progression, chemoresistance ...

Numerical data processing from a laser flash experiment on thin graphite layer

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2017
In this paper, the methodology for determination of the out-of-plane thermal diffusivity (TD) of a thin graphite layer deposited onto a substrate of known properties is presented.

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...

Inverse analysis method for in-situ stress field of rock mass considering influences of characteristics of layered structure

open access: yesYantu gongcheng xuebao
The layered rock mass and its interlayer shearing fracture zone have complex influences on the magnitude and direction of local stress field in underground engineering areas.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Pseudo-Inverses in the Analysis of Variance

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1964
The normal equations in the analysis of variance with suitable side conditions give a unique set of estimates, $\tilde\beta_i$, of the parameters $\beta_i$. These estimates are unique linear forms in the actual observations. In the solutions to the normal equations they appear as linear forms in the treatment and block totals; these totals are not ...

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.
