Partial data inverse problems for Maxwell equations via Carleman estimates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
In this article we consider an inverse boundary value problem for the time-harmonic Maxwell equations. We show that the electromagnetic material parameters are determined by boundary measurements where part of the boundary data is measured on a possibly ...

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Quasisolutions of Inverse Boundary-Value Problem of Aerodynamics for Dense Airfoil Grids [PDF]

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2016
In the process of turbomachinery development, it is of great importance to accurately design impellers and select their blade shape. One of the promising approaches to solving this problem is based on the theory of inverse boundary-value problems in ...

Reconstruction of Inclusions for the Inverse Boundary Value Problem with Mixed Type Boundary Condition [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We consider an inverse boundary value problem for identifying the inclusion inside a known anisotropic conductive medium. We give a reconstruction procedure for identifying the inclusion from the Dirichlet-Neumann map or the Neumann-Dirichlet map ...

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

Symbolic Regression and Multi‐Objective Optimization of the Flory–Huggins Interaction Parameter for Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

On some linear two-point inverse problem for a multidimensional heat conduction equation with semi-nonlocal boundary conditions

open access: yesҚарағанды университетінің хабаршысы. Математика сериясы
It is known that V.A. Ilyin and E.I. Moiseev studied generalized nonlocal boundary value problems for the Sturm-Liouville equation, the nonlocal boundary conditions specified at the interior points of the interval under consideration. For such problems,

Determination of an Unknown Coefficient in the Third Order Pseudoparabolic Equation with Non-Self-Adjoint Boundary Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2014
The solvability of the inverse boundary problem with an unknown coefficient dependent on time for the third order pseudoparabolic equation with non-self-adjoint boundary conditions is investigated in the present paper.

Quasisolutions of one inverse boundary-value problem of aerohydromechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We study one ill-posed problem, namely, the inverse boundary-value problem of aerohydromechanics, and propose a method for calculating its quasisolution in various normed spaces.

Microstructure‐Controlled Crack Propagation and Fracture Resistance in MoSiBTiC Alloy Revealed by Multiscale Extended Finite Element Method Modeling

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...
