Optimal use of Inverse Distance Weighting method for temperature prediction

2020 12th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI), 2020
This article presents several ways of managing input data from different perspectives and the possibilities to use them on several interpolation methods and calibration techniques applied to a given data set. These techniques have been applied in order to obtain a better estimate of the temperature in a given geographical area.

Intelligent Optimization on Power Values for Inverse Distance Weighting

2013 International Conference on Information Science and Cloud Computing Companion, 2013
As a typical spatial interpolation method in geoscience and geographic data processing, inverse distance weighting (IDW) method has a long-time standing problem which is how to choose the best power value while calculating. For the issue, this text proposes an alternative way based on enumeration and cross validation.

OPTIMIZING INVERSE DISTANCE WEIGHTED INTERPOLATION WITH CROSS-VALIDATION

Soil Science, 2005
Inverse distance weighted interpolation can be easily optimized with commercially available software by selecting distance exponent values that minimize cross-validation (V CROSS ) errors of prediction. The effectiveness of this approach has not been critically evaluated but is of concern because of known limitations of the V CROSS procedure.

Delaunay Graph Based Inverse Distance Weighting for Fast Dynamic Meshing

Communications in Computational Physics, 2017
AbstractA novel mesh deformation technique is developed based on the Delaunay graph mapping method and the inverse distance weighting (IDW) interpolation. The algorithm maintains the advantages of the efficiency of Delaunay graph mapping mesh deformation while it also possesses the ability of better controlling the near surface mesh quality.

Comparing ordinary kriging and inverse distance weighting for soil as pollution in Beijing

Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2018
Spatial interpolation method is the basis of soil heavy metal pollution assessment and remediation. The existing evaluation index for interpolation accuracy did not combine with actual situation. The selection of interpolation methods needs to be based on specific research purposes and research object characteristics.

Soil moisture estimation with inverse distance weighting for home agriculture applications

2018 26th Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2018
The optimum level of soil moisture is important both for the plant's production activities and irrigation. The measurement of soil moisture is done by various methods. Automatic irrigation systems are designed according to the results of the measurements.
