A spectral analysis extension to DEMATEL for strategic leverage points identification

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, EarlyView.
Abstract Efforts to intervene in complex systems often emphasize influential factors, yet system behavior is equally shaped by the relationships among them. Methods such as Decision‐Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) map causal structures but remain descriptive and do not identify which relationships provide the greatest leverage for ...

The Effect of Managers' Mix of Real and Accrual‐Based Earnings Management on Future Performance

open access: yesJournal of Business Finance &Accounting, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Prior research finds that firms use both accrual‐based earnings management (AEM) and real earnings management (REM) to manage financial reporting outcomes and that each practice influences firm performance. We extend this research by examining how managers’ choices regarding the mix of AEM and REM relate to future performance.

Monetary Policy and Wealth Effects: The Role of Risk and Heterogeneity

open access: yesThe Journal of Finance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We study the role of asset revaluation in the monetary transmission mechanism. We build an analytical heterogeneous‐agents model with two main ingredients: (i) rare disasters and (ii) heterogeneous beliefs. The model captures time‐varying risk premia and precautionary savings in a setting that nests the textbook New Keynesian model.

Institutional Logics as a Resource and Risk: Logic Deviance and Categorical Penalties in US Community Banks

open access: yesJournal of Management Studies, EarlyView.
Abstract Can institutional logics be damaging for the same category of actors they are presumed to benefit? Can firms prevent or reduce this detrimental effect? This study integrates the institutional logics perspective with category research to examine these questions in the context of community banks.

AI Platforms as Cooperation Enablers Favoring the Development of Strategic Situating Capabilities Within Solution Delivery Ecosystems

open access: yesJournal of Product Innovation Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Academic Summary By integrating artificial intelligence (AI) platforms into their processes, firms aim to enhance their strategic capabilities and gain a competitive advantage. This study investigates the impact of such platforms on value generation within solution‐based strategies, proposing two connected mechanisms.

Markov Determinantal Point Process for Dynamic Random Sets

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Law of Determinantal Point Process (LDPP) is a flexible parametric family of distributions over random sets defined on a finite state space, or equivalently over multivariate binary variables. The aim of this paper is to introduce Markov processes of random sets within the LDPP framework. We show that, when the pairwise distribution of two

Multiple Changepoint Detection for Non‐Gaussian Time Series

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article combines methods from existing techniques to identify multiple changepoints in non‐Gaussian autocorrelated time series. A transformation is used to convert a Gaussian series into a non‐Gaussian series, enabling penalized likelihood methods to handle non‐Gaussian scenarios.

Tensor Changepoint Detection and Eigenbootstrap

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Tensor data consisting of multivariate outcomes over the items and across the subjects with longitudinal and cross‐sectional dependence are considered. A completely distribution‐free and tweaking‐parameter‐free detection procedure for changepoints at different locations is designed, which does not require training data.

Moving Sum Procedure for Multiple Change Point Detection in Large Factor Models

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper proposes a moving sum methodology for detecting multiple change points in high‐dimensional time series under a factor model, where changes are attributed to those in loadings as well as emergence or disappearance of factors. We establish the asymptotic null distribution of the proposed test for family‐wise error control and show the

On the Existence of One‐Sided Representations for the Generalised Dynamic Factor Model

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We study the Generalised Dynamic Factor Model (GDFM) and show that the dynamic common component, that is, the common component of the GDFM, can be expressed using only current and past observations under mild assumptions. Specifically, we require (i) the dynamic common component to be purely non‐deterministic and (ii) the exclusion of ...
