Flexible Dielectric Acoustic Resonator Patch for Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A flexible dielectric acoustic resonator patch enables MHz‐range ultrasound generation through resonance amplification without using piezoelectric materials. Conformal integration on a curved substrate allows efficient acoustic delivery to tissue‐mimicking environments.

Approximating the Probability Distribution of Functions of Random Variables: A New Approach [PDF]

open access: yes
We introduce a new approximation method for the distribution of functions of random variables that are real-valued. The approximation involves moment matching and exploits properties of the class of normal inverse Gaussian distributions.

Polymorph‐Specific Electronic Transduction in WO3 during Molecular Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metal‐oxide polymorphs with similar surface chemistry can nevertheless exhibit distinct sensing properties. In γ‐ and ε‐WO3, analyte adsorption appears comparable; yet, only ε‐WO3 induces a pronounced lattice electronic perturbation that accommodates charge in sub‐conduction band minimum states.

Promotion time cure model with generalized Poisson-Inverse Gaussian Distribution

open access: yesJournal of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, 2016
Background & Aim: In the survival data with Long-term survivors the event has not occurred for all the patients despite long-term follow-up, so the survival time for a certain percent is censored at the  end  of the  study.

Long-term Survival of Multiple Myeloma Patients using Cure Models

open access: yesArchives of Advances in Biosciences
Introduction: Multiple myeloma (MM) is a kind of blood cancer that is caused by the malfunction of plasma cells and their uncontrolled growth, which leads to a decrease in the level of immunity and the formation of bone lesions, especially in the spine,

Regularizing priors for linear inverse problems [PDF]

open access: yes
We consider statistical linear inverse problems in Hilbert spaces of the type ˆ Y = Kx + U where we want to estimate the function x from indirect noisy functional observations ˆY .

A Characterization of the Inverse Gaussian Distribution

open access: yesThe Annals of Mathematical Statistics, 1962
M. C. K. Tweedie [2] defined the inverse Gaussian distributions via the density functions \begin{equation*}\tag{1}f(x; m, \lambda)= \lbrack\lambda/(2\pi x^3)\rbrack^{\frac{1}{2}} \exp \lbrack -\lambda(x - m)^2/(2m^2x)\rbrack\quad\text{for}\quad x > 0 = 0\quad\text{for} x \leqq 0\end{equation*} The parameters $\lambda$ and $m$ are positive.

Evidence for Itinerant Ferromagnetic Flat Bands Producing Large Transverse Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Itinerant ferromagnetic flat bands are demonstrated in GdCo5 with a high Curie temperature of 940K, a stacked honeycomb–kagome lattice, through angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy and magneto‐thermoelectric measurements. These topological flat bands generate large Berry curvaturte, producing gigantic anomalous Nernst effect with record‐high ...

Bayesian Estimation of Shift Point in Shape Parameter of Inverse Gaussian Distribution Under Different Loss Functions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Optimization in Industrial Engineering, 2015
In this paper, a Bayesian approach is proposed for shift point detection in an inverse Gaussian distribution. In this study, the mean parameter of inverse Gaussian distribution is assumed to be constant and shift points in shape parameter is considered ...
