INVERSE GAUSSIAN k-DISTRIBUTIONS

Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 1999
Abstract k-distributions corresponding to Malkmus’ narrow band model are inverse Gaussian distributions. Inverse Gaussian theory developments are therefore directly relevant to gas radiative transfer modeling. The present text illustrates some significant benefits that could be made from this observation: (i) k-distribution formulations are ...

Compound-Gaussian Clutter Modeling With an Inverse Gaussian Texture Distribution

IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2012
The compound-Gaussian (CG) distributions have been successfully used for modelling the non-Gaussian clutter measured by high-resolution radars. Within the CG class, the complex K -distribution and the complex t-distribution have been used for modelling sea clutter which is often heavy-tailed or spiky in nature.

ON THE NULL DISTRIBUTIONS OF THE ENTROPY TESTS FOR THE GAUSSIAN AND INVERSE GAUSSIAN MODELS

Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2001
Vasicek [1]used the “convolution of twelve uniforms” for a Monte Carlo tabulation of the 5% critical values for his entropy test for normality. We employ a superior normal generator to construct a corrected and extended tabulation for his test. Interestingly, it is shown that, the same tables can be used for implementing Mudholkar and Tian's [2]entropy

The Inverse Gaussian Distribution

1994
Abstract This book begins with a historical survey of `generalized inverse Gaussian laws', in which the wartime contribution of Etienne Halphen is presented for the first time. The inverse Gaussian distribution, its properties, and its implications are set in a wide perspective.

Transformed GARMA Model with the Inverse Gaussian Distribution

2017
We propose an extension of our previous work [10]regarding GARMA models. The task of this paper is to study transformations leading to GARMA models. We present a simulation study and real data analysis using the Transformed GARMA (TGARMA) models with the inverse Gaussian distribution.

A Note on the Inverse Gaussian Distribution

1981
In recent years there has been a resurgence of the study on the Inverse Gaussian distribution led by Folks (1978). Schroedinger, Smoluchowsky (1915) and Wald (1947) all seem to have discovered and rediscovered the distribution unbeknownst to each other.
