Properties and applications of the Poisson-reciprocal inverse Gaussian distribution [PDF]
The barely known continuous reciprocal inverse Gaussian distribution is used in this paper to introduce the Poisson-reciprocal inverse Gaussian discrete distribution. Several of its most relevant statistical properties are examined, some of them directly

Multimodal Data‐Driven Microstructure Characterization
A self‐consistent autonomous workflow for EBSP‐based microstructure segmentation by integrating PCA, GMM clustering, and cNMF with information‐theoretic parameter selection, requiring no user input. An optimal ROI size related to characteristic grain size is identified.

We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Neutrosophic Inverse Gaussian Distribution in Economic Policy Design under Indeterminacy [PDF]
Uncertainty and indeterminacy are central concepts in economic policy design. The inherent uncertainty is difficult to incorporate into traditional statistical models.

Hierarchical Bayesian Local Gaussian Mixture Model for Image Restoration
In recent years, Bayesian approach using Gaussian model as a patch prior has achieved great success in image denoising. However, this approach is not stable in solving inverse problems beyond denoising.

In Situ Micromechanical Study of Bimodal γ′–γ″ Precipitate Assemblies in Ni–Cr–Al–Nb Superalloy
A Ni–Cr–Al–Nb superalloy with a bimodal γ′–γ″ precipitate distribution is developed. Composite precipitate assemblies form through heterogeneous nucleation, effectively impeding dislocation motion. Micropillar compression reveals high strength at room and elevated temperatures, governed by precipitate shearing, with coupled faulting mechanisms ...

Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

Note on a Characterization of the Inverse Gaussian Distribution
A random variable $x$ is said to have the inverse Gaussian [3], or Wald's ([4] pages 192-193) distribution function when its density function is given by \begin{equation*}\tag{1} f(x; m, \lambda) = (\lambda/2\pi x^3)^{\frac{1}{2}} \exp\{-\lambda(x - m)^2/2m^2x\},\quad 0 < x < \infty,\end{equation*} where the constants $\lambda$ and $m$ are assumed to ...
