Identification and Inverse Torque Control of Hydrodynamic Dynamometers

IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2014
Hydrodynamic dynamometers are employed in internal combustion engine (ICE) test benches for the entire range of ICEs, from cart engines to large ship engines. They are inexpensive and characterized by a relatively small moment of inertia. Although nonlinearities and the absence of accurate models make controlling these dynamometers a difficult task ...

Complex Stiffness Identification by Inverse Methods

2002
The basic principle of an inverse method for material stiffness identification is to compare measured values of a test specimen with computed values from a numerical model of the test specimen. The parameters in the numerical model are the unknown material stiffness properties and they are iteratively updated starting from an initial set of parameters ...

Lithology identification by AVO inversion

SEG Technical Program Expanded Abstracts 1995, 1995
A stratigraphic elastic inversion scheme has been applied The main assumptions in the present scheme are: (i) The to two data sets from the ‘Troll East field. The objective of model is locally close to horizontally layered (i.e. the model the present work is to obtain estimates of Pand Swave layers exhibit small dips and small lateral velocity ...

Identification of tertiary sulfonamides as RORc inverse agonists

Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters, 2014
Screening a nuclear receptor compound subset in a RORc biochemical binding assay revealed a benzylic tertiary sulfonamide hit. Herein, we describe the identification of compounds with improved RORc biochemical inverse agonist activity and cellular potencies.

Identification of an underwater target by acoustic inverse scattering

International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003
Statistical mathematical models arising from the acoustic scattering of an underwater object are derived. Global and local models that are obtained by the singularity expansion method are considered. A parametric inverse problem is formulated on the basis of ARMAX models.

Inverse Problems for Identification of Memory Kernels in Viscoelasticity

Mathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, 1997
Let \(D\) be a bounded (smooth) domain in \(\mathbb{R}^n\) with an outer normal vector \(\nu\) relative to its boundary \(\partial D\). Moreover, let \(T\in\mathbb{R}_+\) and \(\alpha\in\mathbb{R}\) be fixed and let \(\rho\), \(\beta\) be given positive continuous functions on \(\overline D\), while \(\gamma\) is a given element in \(C(\overline Q ...

Soliton Solutions as Inverse Problem for Coefficient Identification

2014
We construct an algorithm to investigate numerically non-symmetric solitary wave-like solutions of an ordinary nonlinear differential equation. We reformulate the bifurcation problem, introducing a new parameter; and in such a way we expel the trivial solution of the original problem.

An Elastic‐Plastic Material Inverse Identification Problem

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 1988
AbstractThe inverse elastic‐plastic problem based on the theory of small elastic‐plastic deformations for the identification experiment on the thick‐walled cylinder is formulated mathematically. The input parameters are radial and tangential strains measured experimentally. For the solution the numerical one step Runge‐Kutta method is applied.

Inverse source identification for Poisson equation

Inverse Problems in Science and Engineering, 2005
A numerical method for identifying the unknown point sources for a two-dimensional Poisson problem from Dirichlet boundary data is proposed. Under an assumption that the total number and estimate positions of the point sources are known, the exact positions and corresponding strengths of the distinct point sources can be identified from scattered ...
